did you all get the update over OTA? I still get message: my watch os is the latest one. but I am still on beta 1.
I already deleted and reinstalles dev. profile. what else I can do? complete reset?

I am running iOS 12 beta 2 and macOS Mojave beta 2 without large issues. Especially battery life on both my iPhone X and MacBook Pro remains the same. - Can anyone comment on battery life on an Apple Watch Series 2 with the beta? I'd like to do some testing but I do not have a spare watch. Thank you for any input.

My utility watch face doesn’t update my activity for some reason. If I change my watch face with a different one, the activity shows up. I removed the utility watch face and added it again. Hopefully that fixed it.

But my main issue is my battery on watchOS 5 beta 2. I’m sure I put it on the charger last night, and now I got a warning to put my watch in low power mode. This was at 10%, it went down to 6% when I put it on the charger. This is after 4 1/2 hours of wearing my watch.

Anyone else notice poor battery issue? I wonder if it was my utility watch face causing the battery drain?

And I use the Siri watch face

anyone else have walkie talkie not working because it says FaceTime needs to be enabled? My wife watch is saying this yet she has FaceTime enabled.

Inspired by "All the little things" threads that MacRumors has on different products and software
releases, I figured the WatchOS 5 deserves one too.

The Apple Watch has plenty of things that are not heavily featured in Apple's blog posts or articles, this thread will highlight those things for you!

watchOS 5 requires iPhone 5s or later with iOS 12 or later, and an Apple Watch Series 1, 2 or 3. watchOS 5 is not compatible with the first-generation Apple Watch.

Headlining features
  • Enhancements to Workout app, such as Hiking mode, Yoga and automatic workout detection with retroactive credit and End prompts!
  • Walkie-Talkie.
  • Invoke without saying Hey Siri when you raise your wrist.
  • Siri watch face support for Siri Shortcuts and third-parties.
  • Limited web content rendering for emails and links in Messages.
  • Podcasts app.
  • Background audio API for third party apps.
…And what we're here for:

Little Things
  • Siri watch face cards can be turned grey.
  • Control center items can be rearranged.
  • New subtle animation when entering control center or notifications.
  • Mail shows when it was last updated at the top of the inbox.
  • The rings in the activity app are outlined with black along the edges
  • Astronomy and Solar watch faces have been simplified and now support complications
  • You can now access Control Center and Notifications from within apps as well by touching and holding at the top or bottom of the screen, then swiping
  • WiFi supports WPA2 Enterprise.
  • Connect to WiFi networks from Watch.
  • The Timer app now has "Recents" to allow you to start a timer for the same duration you used previously
WatchOS 5 looks outstanding.. But It looks like us original owners of Iwatch will not be able to update to it when it comes out..My watch is only 3 years old and won't be able to go past 4.3.1

Is it me or is messages in the cloud screwed? My other devices aren’t updating, or only sporadically and I’ve missed a few messages sent to me too.

Yes I had it in beta 1, hoped it would have been fixed in beta 2. At least the gps is working now!
Tried a running workout and the gps got stuck at 3.00 km...Everything else was running...distance and pace.
So no...the gps is not fixed for me. SS3

Anyone one having an issue with Apple Pay with the latest update? When I double click to bring up the card (as I have always done) nothing happens. Anyone else experiencing this?
Series 3 AW, watch OS - 5, Beta 2.
Thanks

Anyone else’s one doing this

You need to sign into your Apple ID in the FaceTime settings of the phone.

You’ll need to sign with your Apple ID in Settings > FaceTime and tap your Apple ID as the main way to send and receive FaceTime calls.

Restart your watch and you’re golden.

After waiting thru the no internet issues yesterday, I finally got Beta 2 on my watch around 5PM Eastern time. It was not easy (sadly updating watch is not for some reason) but done. First thing I noticed, is that Batt life is majorly better in this build. Beta 1 cut my battery life in half, and I could not make it thru an entire day. Beta 2 has mostly fixed that. Still a ways to go on quality issues but it's only beta 2, so much more time before release. I'm liking it so far.

Question: About location reminder...

If you have a Serie-3 LTE watch and create a location reminder like
“Remind me to buy milk when I leave home”
Let’s say you leave home with the LTE watch but your iPhone stay at home.

Is the reminder will remind me on the watch when I leave home while my iPhone is still there... ?

Can anyone comment on how stable beta 2 is compared to beta 1? Would love to load it on my watch and don't mind minor bugs as long as it's not crashing and/or destroying battery life.

Thanks, everyone!

When a watch bricks, you still get something show up on the display, right?

I was running the second beta without issues but my Gen.2 watch has just died.

Nothing on screen, can’t hard reset, and it’s fully charged.

I was swimming earlier with my nephew in a 1m pool. I noticed the watch was off so it looks like the pool has killed it. I’ve been swimming with it many times before so it’s very frustrating!

Just had a 2 hour Walkie-Talkie session. It works pretty well.

There are some bugs like issues connecting, sometimes AirPods will disconnect, and just some general instability. Overall it's quite usable though. It used about 25% of my battery, and my iPhone went down about 30%. Both were really hot, so battery/power usage isn't great currently. To be expected with a beta, obviously.

All I know is I used to get 2 days of battery life out of my series 3 LTE (with 2 hour work outs both days) no problem (LTE turned off obviously)....now I can barely get a day.

I also am seeing a major battery decline. Normally by the end of the day I am around 65% today I am 45%. I am going to chalk that up to having walker talkie enabled and available all day and see what happens tomorrow with availability turned off.
