Apple Books has an Apple Watch User guide which is free for Watch OS 5 and Series 4 Watch. Can read it on iPhone or iPad. I've had a watch since Series 0 but I learned a lot about the new features. If you've never had an Apple Watch this is really helpful

On watchOS 5 on Series 4, some of the existing watch faces (like Simple, Mickey/Minnie) adopt a curved-corner complications style, where the text wraps around the edges of the face - a bit like the new Infograph face but without the more complicated colour style.

Other faces like Colour, Chronograph, etc that have round corner complications have those inset slightly so that the face can be larger and still fit the complications into the corners.

On both watches? I can’t test two watches using walkie talkie cellular right now. Maybe someone else can.

Got it working. I had mobile data turned off for FaceTime I think that was stopping it working when not connected to Wi-fi

They don’t appear to work. It has WhatsApp on there but nothing works when you get texts

Same here. Only 3rd party one that works for me is Carrot weather. They updated their app yesterday supporting the Siri watch face. I have about another 7 apps in this list switched on , WhatsApp being one of them , however none of them offer anything. Why I have these random apps if they don’t work I don’t know , however I think the apps have to be updated. WhatsApp would be good , but I’m not holding my breath as they are so slow with updates. Unless it’s updates for more silly ridiculous stickers.

Yeah I mean WhatsApp haven’t even made a WhatsApp app for the watch so why would it support this lol

The app needs to be updated to support watchOS 5 and the Siri watch face. It doesn’t look like WhatsApp has been updated yet.

Do you have to change a setting to get Siri on raise to talk or whatever it’s called?

WOS4: "Hey Siri, I'm going for a run". This opened the Workout app (if you don't have the Nike app installed) and started the 3 second countdown to a run.

WOS5: "Hey Siri, I'm going for a run". This opens the workout app and stops.

So what do you say to Siri now to actually make it start a run, not just open the workout app? Because frankly it's quicker to just open the app now and select the run, rather than go through Siri.

"Hey Siri, start a 30 minute outdoor run", etc.
[doublepost=1537284000][/doublepost]Meanwhile, on a totally different note re the new faces, for those who like time in digital format, watchOS 5 on Series 4's Infograph analogue face allows you to add Digital Time as a complication that fills the top middle area (in the form hh:mm:ss).

Tried that, no dice. Asking it to do a 30 minute outdoor run didn't do it. Nor did "open run" or any other combination. It just launches the app to the main menu now.

OK, that's weird because that wording does work for me: the Workouts app launches and then a second or so later it starts the workout as requested. Perhaps try killing/restarting the Workouts app? (hold side button until options appear, then release and hold crown)

‘Start an outdoor run’ goes straight to the countdown for me

I almost thought you had it there. - tried that and when it opened it had the loading circle for a split second (app icon with the rotating circles), but then sat at the countdown timer again. Thanks for the watch close apps tip though - didn't know that one!

I know Siri is region specific but is there a way to reset Siri or something? Because it does appear to be just me where Siri isn't working right.

I wonder if it already includes ECG feature

It might have, but we won't see it until the s4 comes out on Friday. There are no place holders on the phone app or the watch that I can see on my first pass though the beta.

Are Siri shortcuts not supported on the watch? I’ve set up a ‘turn my heating on’ shortcut and it works from my phone and HomePod but not the watch.

but then sat at the countdown timer again.

Do you mean it shows the workout countdown like 3... 2... 1? Or does it not get to the point where it shows that?

Are there any other fitness apps installed that respond to Siri workout requests? Maybe something is interfering. Check in your iPhone's Settings - Siri & Search - then look down the app list for "Use with Siri". Perhaps that's a long shot, but since I don't have any apps enabled with that, it may be something to at least rule out.

Any idea why my Apple Watch isn't syncing my calendar after the update?

It says "No more events today" yet my iPhone clearly has calendar appointments today. I haven't changed any settings from last WatchOS to this WatchOS this morning. Likewise, I did the whole delete calendars from my iPhone and reset sync data on my watch but still seeing this :[
