Do you mean it shows the workout countdown like 3... 2... 1? Or does it not get to the point where it shows that?

Are there any other fitness apps installed that respond to Siri workout requests? Maybe something is interfering. Check in your iPhone's Settings - Siri & Search - then look down the app list for "Use with Siri". Perhaps that's a long shot, but since I don't have any apps enabled with that, it may be something to at least rule out.

Thanks for the reply! It doesn't get to the countdown. It literally just opens the Workout app on the main screen with the long list of workouts and that's it.

Only other fitness app installed is Strava, which doesn't respond to Siri, but I'll go through the list of Siri apps today and turn off anything not required to see it makes a difference.

I saw unboxings of s4 on YouTube. Anyone who tried the beta 5.1 to check if the ecg app exists (maybe in a European country to see if by changing the region the app appears)

Since installing WatchOS 5 on my AW3, the battery life has taken a significant hit. I usually got easily over two days on a charge, and now I'm down to 10 percent after a day and a half.

Also, the calendar app on the watch always shows "no upcoming events" even though there are scheduled events and the watch even gives me notifications of them.

Edit: I just tried disabling the calendar app by unchecking "mirror my iPhone" and then re-enabling it. It now shows upcoming events. Hopefully, it will stay that way.

Is anyone elses Dark Sky complication acting strange? When I set it as a complication, it will show the app logo as the complication, but when I force touch on the watch face, the temp will display only in that screen where I can change watch faces. It's so backwards.. Really dissapointed. Any suggestions?

It depends. If I use it as a small icon in the corners, then what you're saying happens to me. But if I set the complication at the loser center location (the wider horizontal position), then it works fine.

I use Weather from Apple in the center because I like that it tells me the city where Dark Sky does but; but I like the complication from Dark Sky better in the corners and its pretty useless right now. Hopefully they update it.. I just purchased this App last week... Go figure.

Just to reply to those above about Siri & raise to speak for workouts not working.

Working fine here on my series 3. Literally just raised my wrist & said “ Open Outdoor Walk Workout “ & it immediately takes me too the 3 2 1 countdown & off we go. I then tested again & omitted the word workout. It still worked no problem at all.

Cheers

Mines strange. As a small corner icon it actually goes invisible. If I change the watch face then it displays the temp icon whilst the face switching animation is in play. Once it settles on the new face it goes invisible again. It works as a shortcut whilst invisible.

You need to end the app activity. If doing a workout, end the workout. If listening to music via Bluetooth you need to manually pause the music...just switching off Bluetooth headphones doesn’t work.

So far the battery life on my S3 GPS seems unaffected, which is to say very good. Thirteen and a half hours of usage today and still at 80%.

Maybe it’s been mentioned before, but yesterday I noticed a new complication at the top center of my AW. In the car, playing music via USB through my car’s sound system, there’s now a small red icon indicating music. Tapping it opens the Music screen, which controls playback. Previously it had only worked when Bluetooth streaming, IIRC.
Not a major thing, but actually pretty convenient, as I sometimes prefer to change music through my Watch instead of the car’s audio controls. And I prefer a USB connection over Bluetooth.

Is time lapse not working for WoS5 and new apple watch 4? Seems the dial doesn't allow scrolling time/weather/events.

anyone having trouble getting map directions on their series 4?

eta, it keeps either doing the spinning icon or just says directions not available for any address I put in

So thought I would ask this here. So I didn’t download the beta on my watches, but I did get the full release on Tuesday. I have 2 series 2 watches now running watchOS 5. I have been extremely disappointed in better life. It’s considerable worse than watchOS 4. My question is, has anyone noticed that in the early betas and has it been corrected in 5.1?

My battery life on my series 3 watch and iPhone X took a hit just after the updates.

I found my issue was the Walkie-Talkie app didn’t install completely and it was like the phone and watch were trying to complete the install.

I unpaired my watch from my phone and re-paired and the Walkie-Talkie app installed and battery life on both devices returned to normal.

Might be worth checking all apps have been installed and for the time it takes unpairing and re-pairing. (Restore from backup)

Yeah I tried that. That was my first though. I checked the apps on both my series 2, and I don’t see any apps not completing the download. It looks like it’s a bigger issue because there is a thread just about the battery issue.

Where is this thread? I can’t find it, thanks

Anyone else have an issue where sending a text through Siri is sending as a text message rather than an iMessage? “Send as sms” is disabled in iPhone Settings. Using a Series 4 on watchOS 5.

Noticed a bug in watchOS 5.1 beta 1. Go in watch app, general, usage and watch app crashes every time for me.

Seems to only happen when on the watch charger.

Anyone else notice this?

Anyone running WatchOS 5.1 beta? Unless I'm going crazy, the animation of the heart (when you are checking your heart rate manually) is all screwed up. Hopefully I'm not the only one seeing this.
