OS X is something beyond just the simple numbers. It's not so much a single OS as a brand for many OSes, going beyond the previous '1, 2, 3, 4' yearly updates. I don't think that's going to change. There's no reason we won't see an OS 10.11, or an OS 10.12. If Apple wants to do something radical to merge iOS with OS X, they don't have to wait for OS 10.11 or iOS 10, either.
