Nope and no Android Auto. They have their own setup and improves very frequent. Bought my car 6 months ago and it has improved a lot. Tesla needs to figure out a way to incorporate it seamlessly into their own environment which is harder than we think. I would hate it jumping in and out to use the car controls for example.

I love Tesla, but one of the main reasons I did not buy a Model S two months ago was no CarPlay. I really did not like their own environment for Music/Radio. CarPlay would make it so much better for them. Would have Waze interaction and a much better music interface. I still can’t believe their cars don’t even have AM radio. When you travel a lot, you can’t always rely on wireless to listen.

Still my next car in 3 years will more than likely be a Tesla, unless BMW’s electric vehicles can catch up.

The Bolt has AM and CarPlay!

Wait wait wait. No AM radio?!?! What the ****???? That's insanity. I listen to AM radio all the time! I didn't even consider a Tesla because Elon Musk is an ******* and I don't trust him or his company, plus all the negative things I've heard about build quality and reliability. Went with a Chevy Bolt EV instead, and it not only has CarPlay and an AM radio, but about the same range for half the price of a comparable Tesla.

AFAICT AM radio requires more shielding than Tesla is willing to use since the AC motors interfere with it. Supposedly PM motors don't interfere as bad.

And I call Shens on your last sentence (at MSRP).

I don't buy new cars, so MSRP doesn't matter to me. My well-equipped 2017 Bolt with 24k miles was $16,600. A comparable 2018 Model 3, while yes they're a year newer since they weren't introduced until then, starts at $35,000.

Edit: Oh, and range. Standard range Model 3 is 220 miles. Standard range Bolt EV is 238 on the 2017-2019 models, 259 on the 2020. You can get long-range Teslas and that's not an option on the Bolt, but then the price comparison is even further apart.

There aren't any standard range 2018 model 3's the lowest range model 3 from 2018 are the MRs that have 264 EPA rated miles. If you can find one they should go for the upper 20's (they only made that version for 6 months). It would likely be easier to find a 2017 Model 3 for a cheaper price than the MR's (as long as you are not ordering it form Tesla).

Dodge already has it on their 12” screen. Half is CarPlay or android auto, the other half is whatever you like from their infotainment system.

The man is literally saving the human race.

He could have easily retired on his Zip2 money ( something like $300million) or his PayPal money ( something like $1billion ). He did not. He founded a car company to employ something like 45,000 people all around the world. Then went on to build a space program so that we could have fast internet anywhere in the world for a decent price. The same space program's end goal is to protect humanity against a catastrophic event that would wipe out 95% of all life on earth.

I dunno about saving humanity, but are you willing to acknowledge that before Tesla EVs were seen as glorified golf carts?
I mean, an already established company he bought and paid the true founders to take over the title "founder" even though he had nothing to do with founding the company did in fact advance the state of the art in electric vehicles. Any investor could have done the same though.

I recognize that the EV I drive is here today largely because of Tesla's innovations and competition. However, that doesn't change the fact that Musk is a tremendous prick and I don't trust him or his company.

Just stating facts and making decisions based them. Words alone are meaningless to me, just as yours are.
How about sharing a few reasons on why we should hate Tesla and Musk. I enjoy learning, not petty insults.
