iPod touch Week 38 = Good iPods?

Start by clicking your heels. Then check Best Buy online to see if you can do it via snail mail...

And dont forget to click your heels!

Best Buy has a pretty good return policy. And unlike the Apple stores they don't even have a restocking fee. You just have to be patient with the staff and be determined and you will get your refund/exchange.

the boxs arent a clear indicator. The only way you can tell if your screen is good is whether its a week 38 or not. If your iPod has the serial of a week 38 model then it is definately ok.

Some week 37's are ok, but from what ive been reading its only a few that are. But all week 38's are perfect

I hope not. If Apple new about this that early, and continued to ship some bad models while they were producing good models, and didn't mention it (until a side reference in today's WSJ), but instead made a cryptic boxing choice, then that's (to me) a bigger issue than the iphone price cut, ipod touch stripped down functionality, or the screen issue itself. That would make Apple downright decietful.
 
so how do u check what week it is again? lol thx really hope mine from amazon ends up with a perfect screen!

Where I used to work, we placed stickers on the product box and major design changes had a version number on it...

Apple did it with the 5G to 5.5G iPods (Bono vs. Jack Sparrow)...
 
hi, if the back of the ipod touch got scratched a little can i still return it, its a week 37 ipod.
 
ARE all or most pre Week 38 ipod touch BAD?

I think I have a semi-good week 37 ipod. I don't want to risk exchanging it and getting a week 38 ipod touch that is worse.. could it be?
 
ahhhh! i asked a friend of mine to bring one to europe from his usa trip. he managed to get one from apple store in boulder/co TODAY (fresh restock). guess what? serial is 9C737XXXXXX and picture Corinne Bailey Rae....

am i damned? i can test sometime next week nearliest :-(

how many of you have a working 9c737... unit????

It will get taken care of via swapout, so nothing to really get too upset about.

Look at it this way, the guy who made that thing is probably lucky he got a roof over his head and a bowl of rice to eat today.

Try to contact him and see if he can exchange it unopened for a week 38 before he returns...
 
i have a week 37 ipod and i cant tell if its good or bad can someone tell me how i can check ? ill take pictures of it and post them here if you tell me how check the blacks

If the retailer won't swap it out then contact Apple directly and demand that they take care of it.
 
If I call my apple store and ask them if the have week 38 iPods, do you think they will be able to tell me?

Or will they give me the "huh" response.

From my experience they won't have a clue. Ask if they have any with Macy Gray on the box.
 
Question, since I don't really know how the week numbers work (how the hell is it up to 38??), by the time other countries get it after the 28th, will it still we week 38 or will it be something like week 39?
