Ok ! keep us in touch, did you find more thread about this issue ?

Well that "fix" did nothing, the one from the apple community about changing the promotion to 60 hertz..did nothing, did no damage either, just made the flicker a split second if that was considered a change LOL..when yesterday it did not want to go back to the screen at all totally freaked me out, never happened before..but when it comes to this particular update I can honestly say Ive never experienced an update like this before with so many issues..I really hope this gets resolved in the next update, maybe in apples mind its no big deal, people can wait for a fix, its just a simple flicker, but I dont think having it flicker twice is good for the machine at least thats my opinion..so hoping for the best

Ok, so I just tried the 60Hz thing and it works for me, but only once, first reboot after changing it no more flicker. Second reboot it's back. And when I reactivate ProMotion, I reboot > no flickr, next reboot it's back ... it's a never ending story lol

Afternoon, folks. I am facing the same issue. In my case, I upgraded from OS Monterey to OS Ventura and encountered this annoying problem. I just had a call with Apple Support a few minutes ago, and the guy informed me that they are aware of this issue. He mentioned that they are working on a solution, but he does not know how long it might take.

🤷‍♂️

Welcome to the club! Anyway it's a good news, at least they're aware of it in your case :) Like we said before we need more people to report this issue! I really hope that the next update will fix it :)

I don't think the issue will damage your computer, but it's super annoying ... and it's not like we bought cheap 200€ PC ... With the price range for a macbook it's even more difficult to accept ...

Just now it happened again with the flicker and the second I pressed the F1 or F2 key it went back to normal so yeah its a bug with the OS..so even with the hertz at 60 it doesnt matter still happens..but pressing F1 or F2 immediately gets rid of the flicker..because sometimes the flicker can last a second and other times it doesn't want to come out of it so I just pressed the key and it went back to the screen..so yeah its the OS for sure..just hope that Apple fixes the darn thing its annoying, and just watch, as soon as they fix this another issue will come down the pike LOL it always does

That's why I was thinking it's related to the light sensor, when my room is bright it's fast, when the room is dark it's slow and when we press F1 or F2 it instatly fix the problem ... even auto brightness is always deactivate ..

Weird this is this morning when it flickered it was not responding fast right away which is why I went ahead with F1 and F2 and it was instant..something with this 13.3 update screwed everything up :(

And it's weird it's only with M1 macbook 14 / 16 maybe 13.3 is reacting to some hardware only on those models!

Hello everyone, I also have that bug since updating my macbook pro 14inch 2021 to Ventura 13.3. I've contacted apple, they said to reinstall mac os. I saw some messages that reinstall won't fix that bug, so I glad that I haven't done that.

Why not? Its harmless, although to be safe you do need to have good backups. It puts you in a position to continue to press Apple on the issue. "I did what you asked and it is still happening".

I had reinstalled but it didn’t fix the issue. And I’ve installed the Ventura 13.4 beta2 yet fix the problem. I’m still waiting for the next update hope it can solve the issue. Apple support guy told me it’s macOS bugs not hardware problem.

I don't have enough time to reinstall mac os and configure all that things with bacups. At least this bug does not bother me during work.

It won't fix it, so if you don't have the time don't do it. I tried reseting via the setting menu, clean install with the recovery, clean install with macOS on USB drive and then in the Apple store they reseted the M1 chip. None of it fixed the issue.

If you have implemented a 3-2-1 backup strategy then the only time involved is the reinstallation which you do overnight so no time required.

I think that we all have differents habits concerning backup and all. I backup my files only, if I need to restore my computer I like to do it like a new one.

I've installed Ventura 13.4 Beta 3. It seems the screen flickering issue has been fixed. After installed, I reboot my laptop twice and there is no more flickering. Hope the Ventura 13.4 for public will be perfect.

AWESOME NEWS thank goodness this was finally fixed honestly tired of having to press f1 or f2 every time it goes to the desktop screen in order for the screen to come back so this is good news indeed
