Somewhat related perhaps - was clamshelling my 2017 Air running Monterey and never experienced an issue. Kept my Air, but moved to a M2 Mini running Ventura on same hardware as my desktop setup - and occasionally, while working with it, the screen will go black. No rhyme or reason. Checked all the connections (power to both Mini and monitor; using HDMI to monitor, as I did with Air) and the screensaver settings. Nothing unusual there.
After a few moments of black - and maybe a few clicks with mouse - the screen will restore.

We'll see what yesterday's update (13.4) does, if anything...

Looks like they fixed the issue..booted up the macbook today, no flickering at all, so crossing fingers this is taken care of..off topic, but my macbook screen is dirty with fingerprints since Im constantly using it, what is the best method to use to clean the screen thanks so much appreciate it

I tried everything like microfiber and all but I always thought it was ineffective and just spreding the marks on the screen. And one day I tried with the back of a Tshirt (100% cotton) and the screen was like new :D

back of a t shirt, now that something I never thought of..those microfiber cloths do nothing. I have some that came with my glasses and it just smudges it more so I quit trying but will try with a t shirt and see what happens..I had read online about using a tiny bit of water but didnt want to risk it

Now I cleaned an old t shirt and I keep it only for this use. For the water it's usefull when the fingerprint is really hard to remove, just tap a little piece of the fabric in water no more than that.

Would suggest 70% isopropyl as it will eat through any smudges and leave the machine super clean. It’s what Apple recommends too: https://support.apple.com/en-hk/HT204172
