The only thing I can think of at the moment is when I'm setting the volume on things. I like having volumes set at multiples of 2 or 5. I don't like them being on prime numbers either. The numbers 21, 11 are acceptable however. I also hate the number 26. I will go to great lengths to make sure this is the case, even if it means the volume being a little too loud or soft.

Nah, see you don't get the uneasy feeling each time you shut a light off or flip a switch of any kind - that it isn't quite flipped all the way to the point where you have to go back and flip it again. As if, perhaps, it stopped in some unlikely inbetween point, close enough to Off so that the light blinked off, but close enough to On so that the light is just barely dimming due to the limited amount of electricity still managing it's way about the circuit.

I do this with more than just switches though. Latches, padlocks, power buttons - hell, even System Preferences settings! I'll tick 'em... then untick 'em and tick 'em again as if somehow they may not have been ticked all the way.

Do this: Take 3 little green and white capsules everyday for the rest of your life... and you should be fine. :p

The only tic which I feel appropriate to write about is the habit I picked up from the British. I apologise all the time as a matter of course. I now do it in every language I speak.

You're never going to have kids.

lol, it's not THAT bad it just happens once in a blue moon and its generally when I'm trying to do something. Like when we went to see Lostprophets and I was trying to watch them (and generally jump all over the place) and she wouldn't leave leave me alone, its right tho, doesn't bother me anymore now. Or at least it hasn't for a while...

Haha, I don't know anyone who doesn't have this problem. :D

I like all my CD's to be ordered by colour rather than alphabetically. The thing is, irrespective of the fact it looks really messy when done alphabetically, I can never think what the CD I am wanting to listen to is called but I know what it looks like so for me it makes it easier to find. Unfortunately my wife decided I was a loon and when we moved in together many moons ago bluntly refused to indulge my CD organisation wierdness and put them all into alphabetical order. Drives me nuts so I went out and bought new closed CD cabinets so I dont have to look at em

Thanks, Doc, but I have the feeling there are others here that need them more than I do. :D

Am I the only one who read this post, then highlighted the message to see if you'd written "sorry!" in white at the end? ;)

Oh, and another one:
"I tend to highlight every message in forums nowadays, to see if there's a hidden message".

on the same kind of note, I highlight everything as I read, just randomly. Not what ive read, or what im about to read, but as I read text on computers I highlight randomly. Really annoys people reading over my shoulder or next to me

When I get down to my last bite or so of a sandwich, I take it apart and eat the ingredients one-by-one! That also works for any food with layers like Nutty Bars and Pop Tarts.

My wife has an interesting fear of even numbers. When we registered for dishes for our wedding, we registered for 13 place settings (We ended up getting 14, but I haven't pointed that out to her yet!). When she sets the volume on her car stereo, it has to end on an odd number. I was buying bolts for a project and she got a bit upset that I bought 2 bolts and 10 washers. I ended up buying another washer (13 items) to make her happy...

Thought of one while i was easting dinner lastnight. When i eat my food i like to put very small portions finish that then add another small portion. Normally during the a meal i would have 4 portions.

When I leave the house or anywhere else I tend to give myself a pat down. I pat my chest (both sides) then alternate patting my pockets. This is because I carry so much crap in my pockets that I am afraid of forgetting something. The only other thing I can think of is that I always wear my wallet in my right back pocket. Not a big deal I know because many people have a preferred pocket. But if its not there (and in another pocket) I get terribly paranoid that I am forgetting it. To the point that it interferes with whatever I am doing.

I was talking with my girlfriend and she noticed thingsi do and went "huh?"

Here are some examples:

- I dont like to sit facing the wall giving my back to the room (such in a hotle room)
- When i sleep i like one side (left or right) touching the wall, i went so far as rearranging the hotle room when i stayed there for 2 weeks.
- I would fill the glass with soda but i would only fill it to half way drink that, then drink pour the rest.
- I have 10 kinds of deodorants, even thou i only use 2.
- I always flush the toilet even thou i just went in to brush my teeth.
- When i sleep the tv has always to be on.
-When i sleep i need a night light
- On my mac i have to have a folder for everything, if i have a a file that does not belong anywere i will make a file for it.
- I take a pill which says take 1 hour before going to the gym, i will always take it 1 hour before going to the gym. Not 45mins before, not 50 mins before.

I cant think of anymore but if i do i will add them here.

OCD much...

That is so me. Yay, I have a wierd thing to post. I couldn't think of anything until you posted this habit.

Once I'm used to a PC (yes WinXP) I stick to it. This is at work. I cannot STAND using a buggy PC, but I'll stick to one that I can predict HOW it'll go wrong, so that I can manage it. I absolutely freak out!! Almost like a comical temper tantrum.

> I absolutely MUST sleep with sheets. I dont care if its 35 degrees Celcius I must sleep with one else I cannot sleep. Furthermore my feet must be wrapped in the sheets! ( I think I got this when I watched 'The Thing' movie - based in Antartica; when I was a kid. I grew up for 3 years on Meds (Tryptophan, Tylenol 3's, etc JUST to sleep)!

> After 8 years I STILL check on my son's breathing to make sure he's still, well breathing/alive. Ever since he was born he sleeps so slight, he's breathing is so quite, that unless I feel the warmth out of his nose on my finger I cant fully fall asleep! He has a bit of asthma, but nothing I should be worried about.

I'm pretty obsessed with doing "things" in 5s -- take steps in multiples of 5, brush my teeth in multiples of 5 strokes, chew and sip in multiples of 5, drum my fingers in multiples of 5. Makes me sound crazy, but it's one way to keep balanced, I think. I'm always counting off in my head, so why not put it to work?

I have the same thing!

Swimming in a pool: always multiples of 5 strokes.... if I *need* 2 more, I go underwater.
Cycling the same: aim for a particular object, and guess in multiples of 5 (beter even: multiples of 10) and try to use that exact amount of pedalling to reach that object.

I do that too, but only when I'm alone. I like Safari cos you can start highlighting where there is no text, as opposed to only where there text is.

everytime i get up, or sit down or go anywhere, i pat my pockets. i don't function with out.

I can think of a few-

-When i am reading a long paragraph on a computer, i ALWAYS highlight it.
-If i am in a boring class, i will look at the clock, and then look at it again 10 or 15 seconds later
-I almost always do my homework in order, from easiest to hardest
-I almost always turn my mini on in this order-
1) Mini power button
2) Monitor
3) Keyboard
4) Mouse
5) Speakers
-I instinctively open itunes and firefox every time i turn on my mac, even if i am not going to use those programs

Everytime i turn on my mac, I open dashboard and safari.

as soon as safari opens up i type "th" then enter.
(or if im using FF i type Th then the down arrow, then enter.

I almost always listen to my iPod when i work!
