I am especially pleased to welcome new member tomrom1@mac.com, who joined yesterday.

Can anybody tell why?

Clue: Doctor Q =

Um ... 66 thousandth member?

Or, he has a really cool shirt?

Or, because he's asking to be spammed? 😀

Do tell!

Tom is someone we should know? is he on the apple team? he made MR one of the greatest forums with over 66,000 people?

Bless

His member number is 2^16, or 65536. As a geek, Doctor Q appreciates the whole 2^x concept, hence why he showed member numbers 16384 (2^14), 32768 (2^15), and 2 (2^1).

At least that's my guess 😛

Very impressive, but I'm guessing you knew something we didn't. If you didn't know Doctor Q surely there's no way you would have gotten that, so how did you know?

It's too bad we don't have a suitable prize for tomrom1@mac.com, like they do when the 1,000,000th customer walks into a department store.

Maybe somebody will donate one of these to give him:

The only thing I knew was tomrom1@mac.com's member ID from the link provided by Doctor Q.

That and, truth be told, I'm a geek too so I immediately recognized the "significance" of 65536. I think it'll be awhile for member ID 2^17, though... 😀

The only thing I saw between Caffeine, zoso98765, and chrberni was that they all joined in April. 😱

Guess I'm not a real geek. 🙁

Dr Q, did you sign up that account by yourself? I smell conspiracy.... 😀 😀 😀 😛
I say we all refer to Doctor Q simply as "Tom" from now on. It will be an inside joke for anyone geeky enough to make it through this thread.

Sounds like fun. 😀

Question: How do you see a members number?

So MacRumors has 66,000+ members? Great!😀

But's here's the real question: how many of these members are "active," meaning, how many post on a regular basis, say, once every two weeks, at least.

This handy search screen lets you look up members by name. Type their name, press return, and if you click their name (or just hover over it and look at the status line) you'll see their member number.
