The different timeline theory is shaping up even more, anybody recognized the lady that the guy in black "saved" in tonight's episode?

It was the same host that helped Will get dressed up when he got to Westworld."
I knew she looked familiar and the comments made about her were meant to stir up a recollection, but I couldn't quite place her until your post.

She's also the woman in the town holding an umbrella.

Stellar performances by Jeffrey Wright, Evan Rachel Wood, Thandie Newton and of course Anthony Hopkins last night.

Can't wait for next week to see how things evolve with Logan. Have we already seen hints of "the incident" or is it forthcoming with Logan?

Looking at this diagram, I don't see how the lower levels could possibly be flooding with water. That's a very dry and elevated location.

Episode 9 was awesome so many loose ends approaching closure.

If Anthony Hopkins doesn't get an award for his performance here, he's been robbed. He is insane(ly good in this role).

"What happened to the neanderthals? We ate them." It was almost as if he was addressing Clarice herself.

Great show. We binged watch last weekend. I keep seeing McPoyle though...IASIP really ruined me.

I haven't watched episode 9 yet (so I'm not peeking at the last few posts) but one thing that gets me about Westworld is how little they talk about the "real world". The level of tech they have for these replicants is astounding and you'd think they'd have less lifelike robots like that everywhere ... Dr. Ford talks about being 'near the end of human evolution' (sorry paraphrasing) but so little is known about what's going on outside the park.

I love the music
Can't see the video, but are you talking about the player piano? Cause yeah, I like the different renditions of songs, so far my favourite is "Paint it Black". :)

This show is mindblowingly good. I can't remember being this excited for a new TV episode since... well probably since Season 1/2 of BSG.

And yes, Anthony Hopkins is a ludicrously great actor. Just chewing the scenery; an insatiable appetite. Boy can he act.

I think I caught Soundgarden's "Black Hole Sun" at one point in an earlier episode. I was a little surprised in a way. I guess by that point in humanity's future it's a classic. ;)

I think that was one of the very early episodes, maybe even the same one as "Paint it Black"... I'll be binge watching episodes once season 1 is over and watching for stuff I might have missed in the first go-around.

The show acknowledges that the tech would have value outside in the real world, but that it is not there yet. It seems to be a major plot point that Ford has been keeping the IP under lock and key in the park, whereas the board of directors wants to get the IP out into the real world, and the head of QA (Theresa) was personally sneaking out data via the satellite implants to god-know-who, maybe the board or a third party not yet revealed.

In the movie Futureworld, Delos made robots to replace powerful world leaders, presumably to take over control of the world. (No spoiler tag here because I doubt that's where HBO is going... it's way too simplistic.)

How does nobody in Delos notice that Bernard is Arnold?

For example, if a few years from now there was a very talented head of programming at Apple who worked closely with Tim Cook and looked EXACTLY like Steve Jobs, wouldn't everyone notice?

Probably some peope did notice, but don't forget that he is probably "programmed" to not notice it himself. Like the picture with him on it, he didn't see himself, he just saw 2 persons instead of 3.

For me it was when he said "what door?" just before Theresa asked where it led and then walked through it.

But then wouldn't those people feel like something is off about it all? Like Theresa, the head of QA, who even got involved with Bernard, yet would seem like someone who would know the history of the place and what one of its main founders looked like. Unless there was some weird thing in relation to Arnold where people didn't really know what he actually looked like or something where things were changed so that people somehow thought he looked differently than what he really looked like.
