I thought 10600 and 10666 were the same thing? Why are there two options like as if 10600 is different than 10666 when it is just rounded off?

What's GSKILL, I keep reading about it here, but I've never heard of them.
Also, what about OWC RAM?

IIRC G.Skill are pretty popular with the OC crowd in Windows land. They tend to have ram that is pretty stable at high speeds (which you pay for with higher CAS settings). Of course in Mac land none of that matters since you can't change the speed which the ram runs at anyways (that old OC method not withstanding).

gskill 8gb 1066 for my 13" 2009 macbook pro here :D first set was DOA but got another one so all is good... now all to get is an ssd

I got a corporate discount with Apple so I just got the 8GB apple upgrade. I could have spent a little less (but not much since the discount was rather nice) and done it myself but the annoyance factor made it up for me. :)

I usually roll with Crucial, but the G.Skill RAM got a lot of praise on these boards so I decided to give it a shot.

8GB G.Skill PC3-10600 1333MHz on it's way, arriving tomorrow :)

I missed the Shell Shocker deal but contacted Newegg and was given a $15 credit on my purchase (bringing the RAM down to $68, close to the $65 Shell Shocker deal, and I got the bonus 2GB USB Flash drive as well).

God damn I love that site.

Have been using crucial for years. When I find something and it doesn't have issues I just stick with it.

I bought the G-SKILL 10666 that was a Shell Shocka 2-3 weeks ago for $64 shipped. Also bought a Samsung 640GB 7200 RPM drive to put in there at the same time. Last MBP I had Crucial RAM. Bought G-SKILL because it was cheaper.

 $64 for 8GB RAM..... £39

the cheapest RAM i could find was £73 by crucial - almost double what you paid in the USA.........

i just bought 8GB G-SKILL 10666 ram using newegg's $25 off $100 promotion (bought the bluetooth mac keyboard too).

came out real cheap for both $113.98/free ship

I've had good experiences with Crucial before so I went with them this time, bought from Amazon.

i recently bought 2x4 from owc the samsung sets[ps they delivered real quick too],so far perfect, cost a few dollars more than there owc-branded same thing, but its apparently oem, maybe theres no difference as some say,but for extra 20$ why not,i thought apple uses samsung and hynix?thats what was in my new 2011 15 2.2,[it was hynix]

Apple? lol. i ordered my 8 Gigs of ram with my new 2011 15"

"lol"? You overpaid by close to 100%... you are the last person this should be funny to. All you had to do was read a 2 page diagram and use a screwdriver and you would of saved yourself the money. In fact, you can even craigslist/ebay the ram for around 50 bucks and it even cheaper!

All RAM really isn't the same no matter what some people state.

What is with the selection of choices in this poll? Not all of us just go cheap!!

yeah but i didnt pay for it, so i dont care. and now i have a fast computer. yay for me!

I chose OWC. After the rebate they offer for the Apple RAM in the MBP, I end up paying $95 for 8G, including postage to Canada. An offer I couldn't refuse. :)

on order: MBP 17, 2.2, 4G, 500G HDD, Glossy
plan to install an SSD when the cost drops to around $1/G.
