Oh no I don’t like this at all. Apple products are tools like any other. They’re cool tools that I enjoy using them, but I’m not thankful for them.

This feels like some real cult-of-apple stuff.
Yep, it's the sort of article you see when there's no real news and no interesting rumours but you still need to produce something.

- My MacBook Air M2 for being fast, light, and always able to help me get stuff done.
- My AirPods Pro 1st gen( I know, I know) for the incredible noise canceling on the bus that helps me focus
- My 2007 MacBook Core 2 Duo for letting me play retro games and use Snow Leopard, the best iteration of macOS ever.

May be macrumors content creators need to produce X number of articles in a month or else they will get in trouble.

I'm not entirely a fan of the question since Apple products are tools and luxuries, but in the interest of playing along:

I'm thankful for the Iphone and the Podcasting and Music apps I use. I was on Android and while I liked Podcast Addict, I missed Overcast and the listening to music experience was not like Apple. I came back to Apple for that experience and it's been nice.

Airtags

If any of you have aging parents with Dementia or Alzheimer’s then you know how they can slip out the door and wander - even right under your nose. The Airtags work the best for location even in green areas as people excercize there and a tag is always located. My dad has the Airtag and Key ring - wickedly overpriced (the leather key ring) but priceless for peace of mind. Nothing better.

Thanks Apple!

It's Thanksgiving and I want to thank all the people, who programmed the excellent freeware without which the Mac would only be half as useful. I love you! 🥰

IINA
HandBrake
Transmission
The Unarchiver
QuickLook Video
Mactracker
OpenEmu

Feel free to add to this list. +

Facetime. It let me talk to my grandma face to face from the other side of the country before she passed away, when I couldn’t make it home in time. Thanks Steve!

I’m thankful that my 2013 iMac still runs like a champ. Granted, I’m not doing anything that would push the system, but it still runs fast and flawlessly.

My 2012 retina MacBook Pro is still a terrific machine, too.

I often think of upgrading to the wonderful new Macs, but it’d be a waste of money for me until my current Macs bite the dust.

iPhone 12 PM - been good for taking pictures at family gatherings this year
My M2 iPad Pro 12.9” - it will be convenient to have a cellular model again while on a trip in a couple weeks.

Thankful is a bit much but I really appreciate my iPhone and watch. Both total game changers for me. Love my iPad and Mac too.

The iPad puts everyday computing at the hands of people like my Dad who absolutly hated any kind of traditional personal computer. He's able to do literally everything with it. It's been such a gamechanger for so many people.

But the obvious answer is the iPhone. It shows what Apple can do when they really try to make something the best, unlike the rest of their product line-up which is severely neglected & stale.

With the Thanksgiving holiday set to take place in the United States tomorrow, we thought we'd ask MacRumors readers about their preferred Apple products, both from 2022 and earlier.

apple-beta-lineup-2022.jpg

What Apple product are you most thankful to have? Is it the Apple Watch with its health tracking features, or the iPhone that keeps you in touch with friends and family? Is it the AirPods Pro and their noise canceling technology?

Do you love the HomePod mini with its Apple Music integration, the Apple TV for bringing you your favorite content, or the Mac for getting work done? Let us know what Apple product you rely on most in the comments below.

Beyond what you already own, what are you planning to get in 2023, and what are you most looking forward to?

Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate the holiday from all of us here at MacRumors.

have been using their devices for over 25 years I think, have not used any Macs for at least 5 years as the mobility of a tablet are vital to my day. No time for extras.
  1. iPad Pro 2018 (my primary device for everything; business stuff, tracking medical care for myself and my partner including appointments, document management, etc. After years of care, everyone left after the first few days then the nurses and doctors only visit every 1-3 months so I have to track everything for him and my own peace of mind)
  2. Watch series 7 (used frequently throughout the day for many functions, including using "shortcut" for logging what and time spent doing it along with the iPad & iPhone)
  3. HomePod mini (used for less & less these days due to frequent moving around from room to room, the iPads and watch are best for my daily tasks over the past year especially)
  4. iPhone 8 still works (used for all of the typical functions but runs out of space quickly)
  5. iPad Air 2 (watching normal television is not possible these days with responsibilities with work and being a full-time caregiver. With the Apple TV app and YouTube I can take it with me as I go from room to room and then when I can sit down for a few minutes before bed; otherwise it’s playing in the background.
** Apple TV box not used for a few years now, still enjoy Apple TV+ with apps on iPads and iPhone. Although Amazon Prime Video offers more of a diverse selection, Apple has added a lot of content but not as much of it is for me compared to Prime.

I use iCloud+ extensively (going back to day 1 of .Mac & Mobile Me); everything gets synced too for ease of use and availability from one device to another. These tech pieces are not a luxury but are integral to how I’m able to run a business, provide medical & personal care + keeping up with household stuff and everything in-between. I am running low on space and strength these days but at least rebooting my devices keeps them running but doesn’t help me much:rolleyes:

The MacBook Pro. On my sixth iteration now. I'm deep in the Apple ecosystem, but it starts with the MBP for me, as a network engineer, using automation tools from the CLI.

The one not made with slave labor. Which is probably the one they made in their garage.
