Am I the only person with a 3rd party App in the Dock? And why is that? I have VoiceBoxDialer there so I can have easy access to it when I'm driving, is there an easier way that I'm missing?

I change things around frequently, but here's what I have right now:

Top to Bottm, Left to Right

SMS, Maps, Cycorder, Snapture
iPod, Calculator, YouTube, Photos
NetNewswire, Facebook, WunderRadio, Beejive
TWC, Cydia, App Store

Dock: Phone, Contacts, Safari, Mail, Calendar

Here's mine...

Top row is for information apps I use frequently (daily). Second row is for category folders. Third row is self explainitory. Fourth row is for PIM stuff. And the main reason I JB the phone was for the 5-icon dock

For all of those that keep the Contacts App on the first page, I have a question: why?

Isn't there a list of your contacts in your Phone App? How often do you really use the Contacts App? Isn't it redundant?

Ok, a few questions.....

I frequently add new people to my contacts list and therefore need to access it a lot.

Because I can't delete the f***er. :D
It should always have been an optional app, like Remote.

True, but you don't need to keep it on your first page, taking up prime real estate.

I keep Contacts on the 5th page- the one I use for redundant and useless Apps that I can't delete like Contacts and Notes (I use YouNote instead).

Neat thread.
I like to keep it as default as possible, i just like how Apple has arranged the icons. Until today I have only had Facebook on the bottom left corner of the first screen. Now I've added Evernote for Notes and Stanza for Stocks - looks really nice IMHO... ;)

I'M NOTICING A FASCINATING TREND - ALMOST EVERYONE HAS LEFT THE PHONE ON THE BOTTOM LEFT. Few have moved it to the top or middle - almost everyone has left it on the bottom left. Does that say something about the way our brains work? It says something. I can see how reading from left to right, and it being on the left and being seen first is a factor. Note: EVERYONE has left the phone App on the left.
Being in a corner makes it easier to find, but not everyone has left it in the bottom corner. The Apps on the bottom are always visible - how many people considered that for the other three Apps on the bottom? Think about this.... should the App that you have on your top left really be on the very bottom row? :D
If that's the case, then I should swap Google and Weatherbug ... but I'm not going to ... because of organization - I want the Google next to the Wikipanion and Dictionary and Acronym Finder. But I could swap them and then just let my brain figure it out. :D HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT EVERY TIME YOU REARRANGE YOUR APPS, YOUR BRAIN IS CONFUSED FOR A DAY OR TWO - HEY, IT'S NOT WHERE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE.

It's really inaccurate to just look at the first page, because I use both my first and second page equally as often. My "first page" is really my first two pages.

Yeah, there's something going on there in the sub-conscious.

Yeah, there's something going on there in the sub-conscious.

It's actually been proven in psychology studies time and time again that we naturally associate the left side with comfort and our right side with "action." If we want to "cuddle up" and be comfortable in a square room, if our back is against the wall, we always go to the left side. If we are in a confrontation with a wild animal, although we keep it in front of us foremost, we try to keep it on our right side. It's been proven in studies. If you look at professional boxers, they stand slightly to the left; so their opponent is slightly to the right. That's just the way our brains are naturally wired. Anyways, I guess if you wanted to read into it that way, then we view our "phone," the connection to our friends and 911, as part of our comfort zone.
... And apparently our work email is the opposite! LOL!

After stumbling upon this thread I quickly considered removing my phone icon from the bottom bar and double tapping like a few people have suggested here. I think its a great idea until you realize that the missed call and voicemail indicator goes with it.

That said, I'm going to keep mine as is for now.

And as a note, my middle page is my "main" page, so that's what I've attached here. To the left are games and other apps with no real purpose (ie. koi pond) and to the right are my utility apps (ie. shazam).
