Air Home Video. Essential for playing home recorded movies on apple tv using airplay. Can even record within app and start streaming instantly.

Thanks. Pretty cool so far, but it's gotten both numbers I've tried wrong...showed the company owners name instead of the company.

Also, it keeps telling me it's a trial version, even though I bought it?

I guess it all depends on the databases the app scrapes but I agree, company name should be listed and not the owner =) You can send Kirneh a msg through the app with the number that failed.

Go to the the registration-tab in the app and check that it says yr phone is registered, if if it isn't then I suggest yo send him an email, henrik.lannerhjelm (at) gmail.com

Seeing that not everyone explore every little tweak that hits Cydia (and the fact that there's power outage and I can't work right now) here's a list of recent gems I installed.

CallLock - manually, automatically (or via proximity sensor) exit to lockscreen as soon as you place or answer a call, no more accidental hangups. $0.99

Fast Copy - no more lag waiting for the copy/past/select all etc. menu to appear. Free

iControl - Manage BT, wifi, 3G and 2G radios automatically. E.g auto disable 3G when you're on Wifi etc. Perfect for us with poor reception in the office/home where there's Wifi . $4.99

Pull To Refresh for Mail - does what it says on the tin. Free

ShakeToUndoKiller - does what it says on the tin. Free

StayOpened - keep AppStore open even after you've selected something for download. Now, if Apple could implement a queuing system that would be neat. Free

Enjoy

Great list.

If you read his original post, what you posted is exactly what he didn't want. He wanted to know of any no name tweaks that are very beneficial, which I'm sure is what a lot of people want to hear. You always here about BiteSMS/SBSettings/Lockinfo, but what people really want to hear are the ones that aren't so much popular (yet) but boost the overall iPhone experience.

Just installed "switchermod" LOVE IT! I Like to have my apps closed after I'm done with them, don't like them to run in the background. This makes it easier to close them, I used to use the process tab on sbsettings, this is way easier. Thanks to whoever posted about this mod.

Nice thread. Thanks.

my pleasure...but now cydia wont work! I tap cydia, and it loads and shows the home page but in the sections
? no apps. search? no apps show up. no apps in manage or updates and no repos either and it won't let me add new ones. this all happend a few months ago when it told me it had an essential upgrade and i updated. Cydia worked for a little while and it had the whole new UI and faster "changes loading." but then this happened. Oh, and by the way I have an 8 gig ipod touch 2 gen jailbroken with jailbreakme.com on 4.0. thoughts?

I like iannounce. If the name is in your address book, it'll announce it before the ringtone kicks in; you'll get some funny results with non-european names like Vidheecharoen. If it's not in your address book, you'll get the number.
If you don't have custom tones for everyone in your address book, this is also a great way to screen calls.

I know I was the 1st to point fingers at this thread. myself along with several others have heard about some good Apps. I say keep them coming. Pandorav3.1.4 skip hack is one of my new favs unlimited skips and thumbs down. http://cydia.myrepospace.com/theman123 is one repo. SpringFlash is another it allows you to use the LED flash as a flashlight straight from SB Settings. been around for a while but I find it very handy.

Sigh. They aren't running in the background unless they're a music or GPS app or are finishing a task (ie. uploading a picture). Otherwise they save their state and quit. Let iOS handle multitasking like is should. It's pretty freaking good at it.

I will say it's a great tweak though. Being able to drag them off is the way it ought to work. Makes it feel a lot like OS X's dock. All it needs is the little poof animation.

I can't bring myself to use it. I like the service too much to hurt their revenue stream.

I've got mine set to turn on to the short hold of the home button on at the lock screen. It instantly turned my iPhone into an "easy to use as a flashlight" flashlight.

exact same thing happened to me the other day. i you have the new cydia {or don't for that matter}, reinstall it. really simple, just follow this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vY4zzP0ZCs

if you already have the new cydia, just open ifile and re-install the file and reboot your phone. it came right back for me

I'll include only ones which have not been mentioned, though I second recommendations for Infinidock, PkgBackup, etc.

Free:

Cydelete - Remove Cydia apps directly from the springboard, just as with App Store apps.
Five Icon Switcher
NoSpot - Completely disable SpotLight to prevent accidental activation.
RemoveRecents - Removes non-multitasking apps from the switcher.

Paid:

iFile - A complete file manager and viewer. A Must-Have app.
Safari Download Manager - Another must-have. Allows you to download any file from Safari. A perfect complement to iFile, and together turn the phone into a really useable mini-computer.
Music Controls Pro - Expanded controls for music apps, swipe controls from lock screen, full AVRCP support, task-switcher controls and heads-up info, etc. Even lets you background videos and YouTube. Support for dozens of music apps.
Popup Blocker - block unwanted notifications (like the dreaded 'incompatible accessory' message)
Cyntact - Show profile pictures in contact lists
3G Unrestrictor - Circumvent Wi-Fi-only restrictions on downloads and data usage.

awesome thread, I'm new to jailbreaking and this list sounds great. I will check them out when I re-jailbreak as soon as I can use my iphone 4 without having to do it tethered

Same thing I'm planning on doing haha. Great list everyone, keep 'em coming! :D

Great list,

Let me add:

FullScreen for Safari ($1.99)- removes top and bottom bars including the status bar in Safari to make it fullscreen, also adds gestures like swipe, double tap and much more. Very customizable through settings.

Autolock SBSettings (Free)- adds toggle to SBSettings to toggle on/off your Screen's autolock setting.

Lockscreen Clock Hide (Free)- removes the Clock and Date on Lockscreen as well as the dark boarder behind. Very useful when using Winterboard to add custom LockScreens.

Navigate From Maps ($1.99)- adds ability to default Maps app by adding a "Navigate to here with Navigon/TomTom" button. Must have one of the two Navigation apps for it to work. Great app since its easier for me to find something through the native Maps app then easily navigate there through Navigon.

Recent/CallLog Delete ($1.49)- can delete single phone numbers in the Default Phone app's recent list.

Well, let's say, that you only send 50 SMS in a year, using BIte you only pay $5.10, on AT&T you would have paid $60. BiteSMS credit don't expire, AT&T charge you $5 if you send 1 or if you send 199.

If I sent 50 SMS in a year, it would cost me $10 ($0.20x50). With bite it would cost me $11.84 (full license $6.74 + $5.10 for credits). For rare texters, it's certainly not a huge money saver. 12 cents per compared to 20, once you're past the license/ads decision.

That's not to say there aren't tons of other features that make it worthwhile for heavy texters, but that's just not me.
