I think the average age in this room is 50+. Although there are exceptions, generally, old people get easily susceptible, rancorous, and stubborn... :D

30 here - I need to CSD, and a 17" is the best way to do that on the go!

If the 17" is to come back, I want that to be the mobile version of the Mac Pro rather than a glorified, oversized version of the 15". There's no reason why a 17" can't be designed to accommodate up to 32GB RAM and mobile Quadro/FireGL GPUs, while the battery doesn't have to last as long as the 13"/15". Apple could even make it cost a lot of money for being one of the very few 16:10-based 17" workstation notebooks in the market.

Chances of the 17" ever coming back, however, are next to nil.

I would love to see a "professional" caliber 17" MBP for serious digital film editing for resolutions above 2.5K. Right now the Mac Pro is the machine to handle all this data but imagine the possibilities if you had a 17" portable?

I would love it.

Not to spoil the thunder, but that's just a rumor and speculation on the part of the author of that article. It doesn't say or add anything more to what's already been speculated on in this thread and others.

I could add that I wouldn't get my hopes up too much if I were you, but if your all-caps excitement is any indicator, I'd probably be a bit late in that regard.

We can dream and hope. Otherwise what's the point in living?

I reckon  will bring back the 17". Maybe not this year but sometime in the future. Yes.
