Going to buy a new Mac this year... had mine for a couple years now and I'm ready to go Intel, plus my wife has been eying my mini for a couple months...
So, depends on what Apple offers up in '07... Probably a new mini, with Leopard and iLife '07, assuming <$700 w/ 1gb RAM, C2D at 1.83ghz+, and the x3000 performs as well as has been speculated.
I'll also be getting a really big HDD (or two) to put into my wife's old Dell, along with an 802.11g adapter for it so I can turn it into a full time movie server which I will integrate with my TiVo as a front end (not the most efficient setup in terms of formats that it can play back, but got to love that TiVo remote and UI!)
Let's see, I've been considering getting a larger widescreen Dell LCD I might snag one if they have a great sale on a 20 or 22" unit (same res, but the extra size might be nice - I'm looking at either the 2007FWP or the 228FWP... about same price when they go on sale, the 2007 has more features, but the 228 has that extra room). I'm sure that she'd like my 19" LCD to replace her old 15" when she gets the mini...
Hrm. New (or new-used) car for my better half. Some fence to close off the few unfenced parts of the back yard so I can get a dog. Um, that's about it. So, in review:
1) new Mac, probably a nicely equipped mini, unless Apple releases a <$1500 non-AIO tower..
2) new LCD for above machine is likely.
3) parts to build video media server.
4) new car.
5) fencing and a dog.
