I love that style as well. If you can, look up that album I posted a page or two back with the Metropolis 2008 soundtrack; its amazing.

Scandroid has a self titled album with a separate instrumental album as well. You can listen to it here and buy the album as well, though some of his stuff is digital download only, while others are offered on CD. But you can download the FLAC version and burn it to disc too.

If you start exploring that r/outrun subreddit you'll find a lot of instrumental music in full synth.

Which album is that? Or, rather, which exact post?

Some of the pictures (of albums) posted by people are very difficult to read in an online setting: I'd love if people posting actually wrote a short description - just the name of the album and composer/artist - in writing.

Most images that are posted here, my eyes just skate over them.

I can't read them, and, therefore, if I don't already know the music, I simply skim them and move on, as it tells me next to nothing.
[doublepost=1543093889][/doublepost]I suppose that I am seeking recommendations for actual albums of synth music (preferably instrumental) that I can buy on CD.

I wish I could find this album to buy on CD because I want it, but so far I haven't found it anywhere. I happened to stumble upon it in the streaming service Tidal.

Don’t forget the blade runner theme as well. But Vangelis is pure genius.

Missed this post.

Agreed: The Blade Runner theme is wonderful.

Now: The first time I heard this (yes, I have seen the movie - the original since then, and brilliant it is) was in a clip recommended by Scott Lynch (of the Gentlemen Bastard series of fantasy novels) called "Star Size Comparison HD".

I just really love this stuff. (Science fact, science fiction, space stuff...)

While looking for that Metropolis album, still unsuccessful, I came across this intriguing band on the website Bandcamp (a great place to discover new music and buy CD's, vinyl and lossless digital downloads).

Album: NOIRE
Artist: VNV Nation
VNV Nation is a European based alternative electronic project led by Ronan Harris.

The music blends thought provoking lyrics with melodic dance beats, indie-electronic anthems, haunting ballads and post-classical pieces.

Many thanks for this (and for the link; I far prefer solid, three-dimensional CDs, to downloads); I did indeed listen to it, and yes, I did like it.

This one is pretty good so far, too.

Album: Self Zero
Artist: Thomas Ragsdale
Listener review: This is epic. Like the soundtrack to a big budget sci fi film in a distopian future that hasn't been made yet. Class.

Fantastic album cover; will listen to it in a minute.

And...."burning all witches".....oh, yes.

Jan Hammer and Vangelis also beckon.

Currently, listening to Metronomy, their album English Riviera and the track "The Look".
[doublepost=1543100152][/doublepost]And "burning all witches", wow, what can I say?

Just now, am playing the CD "Northwind" by Brunuhville.

Not synth, but brilliant.

I listen to lots of well-known stuff like Led Zeppelin, so I'll share some lesser-known amazing music. Komitas, who composed lots of Armenian church and folk music. These two oddly sound like something that'd be in a Studio Ghibli movie.

Well, I am listening, but I'm also watching. Found the BBC's recording of Harry Nilsson from back in 1972. Absolutely fantastic music from the man who was one of the finest musicians of the 20th century. I love Harry and still miss him.

You can buy these mp3s from Amazon and rip them onto a cd, no?

My to go-to anthem now (and I am as jazzed I can almost mimic the vocals perfectly -high and low- being decades out of practice in this, um, style :p).

Just got tickets to see these magnificent hairy (well 2/3 of them are, at least..) geniuses next June. My first time seeing them live, and I really can't wait.

Understood.
Amazon has several versions of the score on cd, maybe you can match the digital to the samples of each cd so you can find the physical copy?
I find it odd that Amazon even offers a digital only version of something with no corresponding physical copy available. I get it that some indie artists only release their music digitally, but I don't have the feeling that this particular one is an indie artist in that same respect.

I guess I'll keep looking or eventually resign myself to the MP3 if I decided I really want it. But for now I can stream it on Tidal.
