Mexican pop this afternoon from Alejandro Fernández. A favored performer in some of my playlists, he crossed over into pop from ranchero and mariachi, bringing those underpinnings with him. This moodchanger is Eres, from the 2007 album Viento a Favor.

I’m currently listening to my pc making some noises 😂😂😂

Anyone know how to make a pc quiet? It’s windows 10 if that helps 👀

Tow U2 songs I cannot not get enough of:

1. With or Without You:

Also, used in the EXCELLENT TV Series, The Americans:

2. I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For:

And 2 Whitney Houston Songs:

A CD called Songs From Italy that I bought in Piedmont in 2005 while spending some time at the cheese festival in Bra, Piedmont.

Currently listening to O' Sole Mio.

Other splendid songs on the CD include such immortal classics as Santa Lucia, Va' Pensiero, Funiculi Funicula, among many others.

And it includes a few late medieval mazurkas, (well, Renaissance) also, such as the one I am at present listening to: Mazurka "Campanelle".

Cool - i have a similar favorite (a more street mix - LOL) - a mix of contemporary and traditional Italian flavoured songs - lol

Frank Dana - La Dolce Vita (see below) - could not find a link on Youtube - FWIW - Per Lei and Caruso are fantastic

Watching Tommy Emmanuel videos on YT. No words really, the skill and musicianship is just out of this world. Makes me want to finally restring my guitar, but at the same time it makes me want to make firewood of said guitar.

Sigh.

I love Piedmont beverages (wine, for preference) and cheeses; I have actually eaten - or, should one say/write, dined? - (one of the years I travelled to the cheese festival) in the restaurant where the Slow Food Movement first came into being.

Actually, I also have a number of CDs - some from the Putumayo series - of Italian café and Italian traditional, or popular, music.

But, this particular CD was spotted in a basket of sundry CDs, (and subsequently bought by me), in front of a small shop, in a backstreet in Bra, Piedmont - and I always like to buy music of whatever country I am visiting (if possible) whenever I am actually in the country.

And now, some Carnival music (it is the Lenten season, after all).

The song goes by the name of "Carnaval", courtesy of Cuarteto Patria and Manu Dibango from the Putumayo Presents: Carnival album (CD).

And yes, okay, a few more songs from Italy:

(Yes, Italy, we are with you).

This song goes by the name of Colpa di Coda and comes courtesy of Alessandro Pitoni. (From the album - CD - Putumayo Presents: Italia).

Three others, from earlier tonight, - another from the Putumayo stable - Putumayo Presents: Italian Musical Odyssey: Adriana (Naples) - Rua Port'Alba; Il Battagliero (Tuscany) - by Riccardo Tesi, and Franziska (Piedmonte) by Taken.

Classic.

My final album (yes, Italian) is an unusual album - a sort of medieval meets modern - by the name of ...In Viaggio - PIZZICAeNo'Pare - an album I used to hear played regularly in my favourite Italian café (which, tragically, was a casualty of the last economic crash); anyway, I begged the proprietor to give me a copy of the music, and - after some persuasion - he prepared a CD for me.

Some jazz, while I figure out whether to cook lentils or black beans for later use on the weekend and what recipes to use them in. So meanwhile some standards in West of 5th, a 2006 album w/ Christian McBride, Hank Jones and Jimmy Cobb. This track is Mr. Walker.
