Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles.

After all, Liverpool have won the Premier League tonight (for the first time in thirty years), with seven games yet to play - an unprecedented achievement.

With that in mind, it seems appropriate to salute this, celebrate this extraordinarily impressive achievement - with some music from what is possibly the best group ever to come from the UK (let alone Liverpool).

It's been G'n'R all night here. One of the best bands I've ever seen live, at least a couple of summers ago there really was no stopping them. Hopefully they come around these parts again once it's possible.

This particular song, though, is incredibly important for me personally. Even without the personal stuff, the dudes managed to write THREE great songs and wrap all of them into this one superb song. I have a feeling I've posted this before, but even so, it is what it is. Possibly one of the best songs ever written.

Ólafur Arnalds is one of my favorite modern-day composers, and this haunting piece finds its way into some of my evenings. In this video he is at the keyboard. You may recognize his work from the Broadchurch soundtrack, but that is the tip of the [Icelandic] iceberg.

Ohh. One of Pop's favorite bands. Always loved this song and the Album - so ahead of it's time IMHO. Also, man I love the era footage. We're not so different eh? I can imagine Dad walking around in his 60's helmet hair, mutton chops and man's mustache as a young 20 something American.

Que Viva Los Moody Blues! :D

Love you Pop :)

Hmm, if I was making a mix, this tune inevitably would be next. What a great era for music.

Two brilliant tracks, (and I especially love Riders On The Storm, to my mind, the very best song produced by The Doors).
