Listen on good gear, you wont be disappointed...

Q-6
Unfortunately I currently do not have any good gear, but just the first notes of the first song coming from my MBA speakers was a joy. Thanks for reminding me that Wishbone Ash is worth listening to.

Some might disagree, but I think AR is their best Album ever. My top five Beatles Albums, in order are:
1. Abby Road
2. Sgt Pepper
3. Rubber Soul
4. Hard Day's Night & Help tied.
5. White Album

My ranking is not so different from yours, but, for me, the White Album ranks higher - depending on my mood, anywhere between No 1 and No 3.

And, I'd replace your selection of Hard Day's Night and Help with Revolver, which I think an under-rated album, with some excellent tracks.

But, I am delighted to see Rubber Soul on your list; a superb (and unfortunately an under-rated album, but one, to my mind, which ranks as a seriously seminal piece of work).

The Celine Dion cover of The Power of Love. Very powerful voice, but my favorite version is the one by Huey Lewis and the News, as featured in Back to the Future.

On something of a major Joy Division/New Order kick at the moment…

Last night I watched Control, which—for those who may not know—chronicles the rise and fall of Ian Curtis, and today I’m watching 24 Hour Party People, all about Factory Records and the Manchester post-punk scene. Both are great, and both are available to stream through Prime Video.

New Order and Joy Division very much had a presence in my home growing up in the 80’s through older brothers and my Dad. I don’t know why but when I’m feeling down I listen to ‘Unknown Pleasures’ late at night and it gives me a lift. It shouldn’t do as it’s very atmospheric and depressing, but it’s an absolute masterpiece. Fantastic genre of music and love the fact it’s still popular today.
