Going old school on this one. This song and this band are one of the first bands that I fell in love with, and I still love these guys. I love the album as a whole, can listen to it front to back and still do to this day. But this song in particular is the that I absolutely love. I have seen them several times and they never disappoint.

Iron Maiden - Hallowed By Thy Name

I love Cradle of Filth’s cover of that song too.

Some Irish (Celtic) folk music. I really haven't appreciated it enough, now's my chance! It's strikingly similar to bluegrass I'm realizing. I just love folk music in general, it never gets old.
Some Irish (Celtic) music is brilliant, and the folk tradition in Ireland is both living and vibrant, and constantly evolving and changing while remaining faithful to some core traditions and elements.

In other words, it is still a living and vibrant tradition, and not fossilised, or preserved in musical aspic.

As far as I know, bluegrass evolved - partly - from Irish musical folk patterns, as there was extensive Irish (and Scottish) emigration to the US in the 19th century (and both earlier and later).

An aside: I had forgotten just how much I enjoy the classic song "Light My Fire" (by the Doors); in my undergrad days, there was a summer when I played this song almost non-stop.

However, I mention it because - if you haven't heard it, or listened to it, I suggest that you do - the keyboards (somewhat influenced by Bach, my subsequent reading informed me - and I love Baroque music) are absolutely amazing, electrifying, in fact.
