Ahmad Jamal's classic, timeless album, Live at the Pershing: But Not For Me

RIP Ahmad Jamal!

I saw him play a gig back in 2006 or so. Unfortunately, it wasn't at a club...but the venue, a 900 capacity theatre, was better than a big auditorium or symphony hall. As I recall, he still sounded good and had a decent band with him.

I think I'll pull out my Mosaic Records Complete Argo Sessions box set tomorrow...

Who can guess who the woman is? She quite more famous as a solo artist.

Some song I can't remember the name of (which is driving me crazy!) It's on a concert video, and they don't introduce any of the songs... it's good though!
Been there, bought that t-shirt.

Yes, of course, they should introduce the songs (or tunes, or tracks), and do so, speaking slowly, enunciating each word clearly.

In fact, I have had occasion to (and no, I do not not even blush to tell this tale) phone the national (state) radio station (the classical music channel, no less) on (a few, rare occasions) to request details of something that I had heard (or, listened to), immensely irked when they hadn't introduced the actual songs, (or pieces of music), for I didn't know what they were, and was furnished with the information that I had requested.

The soundtrack from the film "Living" (which I haven't actually seen, but I hear it's really good). Something you might like, @Scepticalscribe

Gosh, yes, thank you for sharing this.

I've listened to a few of the tracks.

They strike me as a sort of cross between Yann Tiersen, and Erik Satie, and Luke Slott, (and I have heard - had the privilege of hearing - two of these chaps play live) and some other quite uniquely wonderful music.

Lovely.

And, yes, thank you, I do indeed like it.
