There seem to be a lot of complaints on Amazon about the quality of the Skinny as well as the tab being a pain. Any experience here? I had the Toblino leather cover for my iPad2 which I love though it is heavy. It's great to hold, look at and is very functional in all positions. But, I'd like an alternative. Surely, somebody has made the PERFECT case!???

I'm really looking forward to the Speck Magfolio. Looks like the perfect case for me but not sure when it's gonna be released.

which both look brilliant. I'm keeping them from my iPad 2.

I'm looking at the Skinny, too. I just can't decide if I want Mushroom or Black. I also hope it works with a front and back screen shield.

I originally wanted the Skinny as well, but then saw it in person at my University's student store. I dont like the material all that much, though the material itself seems resilient. Its a great case, just not for me. I think i'm trying to now distance myself from the Skinny type, considering I had the InCase Magazine Jacket. I think I wanna go naked from now on.

Does the smart cover wrap around and stick to the back with that rear shield on? Kind of like folding a magazine cover back when reading?

lol I ended up changing my STM Skinny order to Mushroom because when I went to the STM site the red looked a lot brighter than I wanted. They got in touch with me within an hour to confirm the change. Fabulous customer service, I think. :D

Sticking with my smart cover. Currently using the Toblino on the iPad 2. But I really like to have as minimal intrusion on the iPad as possible. The otterbox is just too much case for me.

will the snap shield fit the new iPad?

Belkin have one on their US site but says coming soon

Well, it's only half milimeter thicker, so I don't see the reason why it would not fit to 3g iPad. If it won't, I will probably buy something similiar.

Smart Cover will not stick to the back, anyway when I read a newspaper, I just simply remove SC what makes reading more convenient. :)

I'm still in the indecisive stage. I want to get a Smart Cover, but I want some protection for the back.

Me too. I strongly dislike that Smart Cover. Wouldn't use it if you offered to pay me to do it.

I have the basic Apple case on my 1st gen and rather like it. It's simple and very protective. My only issue is it NEVER looks clean, but then mine is rarely out of the house or seen by another human so who cares?

When it arrives I'll likely slip the "new" iPad into the old cover to see how it fits. If I like I'll get a new one for that iPad. If not I'll shop like the rest of you.

I'm gonna wait for the Incipio Smart Feather to come to the UK, in the Frost variety.

Also, ordered a smart cover which has arrived today. Its an unofficial one, but the quality is outstanding. Aside from a few frayed edges, which can be fixed easily, its basically the same as my Dad's official Apple one.

Ofcourse the colour of the fake is Black though, which Apple dont sell, so everyone with common knowledge of Apple products will see that its fake.

I'm not too bothered though, considering it was 1/7th the cost of a real on (actualy 1/35th, as I used a free £5 eBay voucher, 99p :D).

For anyone interested: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170797117...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_2695wt_1202

I'm going for this set up, just bought a smart cover (grey) but not the back shield yet. The smart cover seems expensive for what it is, plus the price of the back shield, not sure if I should look around and buy something like that incipio shell folio case instead.

Are there any back cases to help stick the smart cover to the back?

Thanks for that :) Just ordered one to tide me over until the case I want turns up on the UK market.

I am torn between the Marware microshell folio (love it on my iPad 2) and the Scosche Folio IQ p2....any experiences with the latter?

uses tape

That was my impression too when I first saw it. Here's a YouTube review of the iPad2 version, and the reviewer seemed to like it:

And here's Casemate's video ad, which shows the case being shaken and the iPad doesn't come loose:

I'll know more when I get it. I just want something that's as slim as possible, without flaps, etc., that will be comfortable to hold and use when reading, etc.

Me too! I am in love with the original iPad cover, but like you said. Mine always looks dirty as hell. I really want a case that functions as a smart cover though.
