Apple smartcover Red.
still considering sleeve options for protecting in a bag. Maybe Waterfield, incase Maki, or one of the Switcheasy options.

I decided to come out of my year of lurking and actually post, since I bought into the iPad market! :)

I am leaning towards the SwitchEasy Canvas, just because it looks awesome, and one of the members here states that he'll post a review soon. The Yoobao looks good too, however, I somewhat dislike that it's covering that much of the bezel...I guess I have time to decide on a case, as my iPad doesn't arrive at my door until April-ish.

What are all your thoughts on Apple's Smart Cover? I know everyone keeps mentioning getting a back and that because it's the slimmest, and nicest-looking option. However, I've seen a lot of "reviews" where they say it leaves marks on the metal (due to the magnets providing friction when removing or sliding?).

I bought the Belkin Pro Color Duo. I want the Incipio Lexington but it's out of stock on Amazon. I was able to get the Pro Color Duo today. I actually like it. It's kind of like the original iPad 1 case had a baby with the Smart Cover. I would actually recommend it if you like the original iPad 1 case from Apple.

GForm

I actually have a GForm extreme sleeve (the yellow one). For protection, it can't be beat. Since it fit ipad2, it fits the new iPad just fine. It can fit an iPad with a smart cover, but a whole case will be real tight if at all. I'm going sans case now, but am thinking about a skin + smart cover.

If Choiix updates their wake up folio, I'd get that. It fit the GForm sleeve and was a slick case for $35.

Well, since starting the thread I have ordered and received three cases, The Ipad arrived today so I have had a chance to try out the cases.

Otter Box Defender: Verdict is still out. Clearly the case will offer great protection, however it comes at a price. The price is not just the cost to purchase. The case is heavy, I am not sure I like the built in screen protector, and I am not completely comfortable with the feel in my hand. I honestly need to give it more time before I make a final decision on keeping or returning. If protection is your most important criteria, the Defender is worth your consideration.

Zoogue Genius: A well made real leather case. The viewing options are impressive,by virtue of the velcro adjustment. I have concerns about the male side of the velcro on the case attracting lint. The Ipad does have exposed corners ,this is a potential issue.

Maroo Moko: A well made all leather case. The fit and finish are excellent, the leather is soft and has a supple feel. The case mounts easily in each corner and is very secure in the case. The case does have a smart cover feature for sleep and awake. There is a minor issue with the smart function working intermittently. Maroo responded immediately to my email and is addressing the magnet issue. I do not feel this minor issue is a deal breaker. The issue will be resolved, the case is an excellent value. You certainly could spend much more and have less value in a case. Customer service is excellent!

Apple Store stock

What is available at the Apple Store? Planning to go to the one in SF downtown and pick up a case. Im not a fan of the Apple one. Sadly its either Apple Store or BestBuy if I want a case today itself. Are the Belkins available at A. Store?

grabbed the griffin slim folio for mine

i just wanted something thin to cover the front and back

Case - ZaggMate with Logitech Keyboard

The aluminum finish is the same finish that is used on the iPad so the accessory is PERFECTLY coordinated (for those of you who care). The hard aluminum case fits like a glove and the bluetooth enabled keyboard is great for the student who is typing up lecture notes (me).

I had the ZaggMate for my iPad1 and have another one ordered for the New iPad (version3).

Are you experiencing any of the issues mentioned in this thread, with the magnets and camera cutout?
I have the same case on order, was debating of cancelling.

Do your magnets work? Amazon reviews are saying that they do not.....

Works perfect for me. Actually have a review I'm about to upload. I'm very happy with this case.

As said though the results can vary.

i was even thinking this one .. half the price and still looks like it offers good protection

I got the Kensington Smart Cover Shield. It said for iPad 2 but it is clearly for the new one because it has a larger camera hole and hole on the top for the mic. I thought it was going to be a hard shell but it is actually a TPU case. I won't get my smart cover until next week.

I'm really interested in this case. Where did you buy it?? (the belkin pro color duo)

I went with the leather rooCase via Amazon. It just arrived, but I;m still waiting on the actual iPad to put in it!

Must have leather, so I ordered the Saddleback iPad 2 case.

Have had one of their sleeves on the iPad1 for two years, still smells like leather.

Worth the cost for me.

Is the Smart Cover compatible with the new iPad? Does the on-off function work?

Has anyone ordered the Lexington case from Incipio? Anyone have any pics of it in action?
