Ordered a rhinoshield bumper case. Looks a bit thicker than I normally like, but will see when I actually have it in hand. I normally do Redbubble cases, but with MagSafe, I might switch it up.

I’d love to see a wallet case like Pad & Quill’s but using magsafe to keep the phone in place rather than a plastic or wood tray. This could make a thinner wallet.

I've just received from Amazon this Supwall wallet case for my iPhone 12, seems decent for £12..

Spigen Tough Armor. I've had one for my 5s, 6, and X. Had some pretty serious drops (and numerous minor drops) with all 3 of them with zero negative effects, so I'm kinda loyal.
But, if they (Spigen) come out with a similar magsafe version at some point I could be swayed to grab one of those. I'll probably get a screen protector until I hear for sure it isn't needed. Everything since my 3g hasn't needed a screen protector UNTIL my X, which scratched really easily.

Apple leather case for my blue 12 Pro due to arrive in mid November. As for color, probably black unless they have a dark blue. I have a black leather on my Xs which has held up nicely the past two years.

Until Spigen smartens up and stops including that damn window in the back of all their "armor" cases, I won't buy one.

I’m surprised how many people are getting non-MagSafe cases. I understand that at the moment Apple and OtterBox seem to be the only ones with MagSafe built-in (vs just compatible through the case) but that is enough for me to go back to Apple Silicone (had it before but found it too grippy, pulling my pocket inside out when removing from pants, before changing to Smartish).

Also, am I the only one that finds the clear Apple MagSafe case obnoxious? I understand the need for the circle due to the magnet but the circle plus the cord doesn’t look good in my opinion.

Can someone who has had experience with the Pitaka cases tell me the differences between the Air and MagEZ? Also, are the Pitaka cases level with the phone screen or is it raised?

MagEZ Case has metal strips that allow you to attach to magnetic wireless chargers while the Air Case is lighter and thinner without any built-in metal. And the Air Case is made from a rarer material. Its texture and finish are better.

Both two types of cases are compatible with iPhone 12. But to charge iPhone 12 with PITAKA magnetic chargers, MagEZ Case is required. The iPhone 12 alone or the iPhone case with MagSafe from Apple won't attach.

The PITAKA cases level with the phone screen. They can work with most screen protectors.

I’m currently using the Pitaka Air case on my iPhone 11 Pro. It does. Or protect the screen at all, so get a screen protector if you’re concerned. The case is VERY nice, super thin and light. It protects the cameras well and feels great to hold also. All that being said, I’m usually really cheap when it comes to a phone case and won’t be spending the $60 they’re selling the new iPhone 12 pro Max case for. I can by 6-8 cheap Amazon cases for the same price and just throw them away if they suck. I’ve always had great luck with $6-10 cases for my iPhones.

Debating between:

  • Power Support Air Jacket
  • Caudabe Lucid Clear
  • Totalee Clear

Beware of the Caudabe. O love the case, but if the materials haven’t changed from last year, it will scratch the frame of the silver phone and all other colors will scratch the clear case as you insert and remove the phone.

Totallee seems super popular so I checked it out- if you sign up for their mailing list they have a 20% off code right now!

I definitely also think the Apple clear cases are super ugly. I'm waiting to see what people have to say about the magsafe charger. On one hand they were epic on the macbooks, on the other hand, it defeats the purpose of a wireless charger. You have to pull it off the back, rather than just grab and go on a regular wireless charger. At that point I feel like maybe it's the same as just using a regular plug in charger.

Why? Working with Apple's MagSafe wireless charger is irrelevant to me, as I'm not going to be buying one.

It’s not compatibility with Apple’s MagSafe charger (which I am not purchasing) that I’m focusing on, it’s having the magnet (or metal ring - has anyone confirmed which is in the case?) in a MagSafe case that will allow for stronger bonding with a magnetic car mount, for example.

Otterbox Defender Pro for mine and my wife's new iPhone 12's. They're pricey but I've yet to have a damaged iPhone. I've used one with my (second) 4S, 6S, and now 12. Why my second iPhone 4S? Because the first one got dropped on a tile floor after about a week of owning it. I don't have to be super nervous handing my phone over to my kids.

I thought I would buy a clear case for my new iPhone 12, but there are so many. What case will you buy and why? How well will it actually protect your phone? I personally want to minimize the bulk, but still protect it, and I want to be able to see the color of the phone.
I always purchase a battery/case. I used to purchase one of the more expensive ones but they really didn't give me more protection or longer battery life than the less expensive ones. Now that I have a Hyundai Santa Fe with CarPlay I plan to buy a new iPhone 12 Pro Max and so I have already ordered the following from Newdery. It gives me everything I want in a battery case: a lot of mAH, wireless charging, protection for the screen, charging status lights, and I never have to take my phone out of the case to use it or recharge my iPhone as well as the batter case. Here is the way is it described on Amazon. It only cost me $39.99 and I'll have it waiting for my new iPhone.

I do wish that CarPlay in a Santa Fe would work wireless without having to pay thousands of dollars more to get that option. I've found a device online that I hope will allow me to connect wirelessly. I'll let you know.
