Probably another low-end Otterbox. It's not the prettiest thing out there, and the rubber/friction make dropping in and out of pockets a little sticky. Still, it's saved my phone on several occasions.

Was strongly considering otterbox as well - assuming they have a case sometime soon.

I like the idea of the bumber/wrapsol combination. My biggest problem with the bumper though is the cost. $29 for a strip of rubber/plastic seems very high to me!

Uncommon (mentioned above) will be selling a bumper like Apple's that will probably be cheaper.

I will be getting the otterbox the second it comes out as well. I'm not one for aesthetics, though this new phone does look very slick, but i use and abuse my phones. I've dropped my 3GS countless times (some pretty nasty falls on concrete included), but because i put it in the otterbox on day 1, when i took it out to sell it, there was not even the slightest scratch and it looked flawless. The only problem is, what case to use in the meantime, and its gotta be cheap since i'm sure the otterbox will set me back at least $50 before shipping and handling.

I'll get a bumper if they work with the new dock.

I think the bumper will be just fine to protect it too... Apple has had the iPhone 4 longer than anybody (umm... duh) and they wouldn't shove a case out there that did nothing.

If the bumper doesn't fit on the dock though, i'll be fine... I've gone through the iPhone 2G, 3G, and 3GS without ever cracking the screen or damaging it. I don't see how this will be any different.

Ordered a blue bumper and a black bumper yesterday for my (hopefully) soon to be white iPhone. I've never covered an iPhone before with a case, I like it naked better, and no damage to any of them in the past, so I'm not worried about covering the back/screen.

the bumper should support the dock as seen in pics. but i dont think apple will make the best case for this phone. though they will make a killing on these things..

No case. Cases are annoying. It's just a phone and I'd rather get the full use out of it versus hiding it behind multiple screen protectors and cases.

If it scratches, I'll get a little less when I sell it. Hiding it behind the cases is definitely not worth the marginal price bump I would get when I resell it in a year.

I might consider putting a clear skin on the back plate of the phone because I set my phones down like that. But I'd only do that because they phone sits on its back to much and the back skin would be so unobtrusive.

I felt the same way until I dropped my Touch. That 'pop' sound and subsequent spider-webbed screen had me dropping $15 on an Otterbox for my Phone that day. Not as aesthetic and somewhat less convenient than going naked, but well worth it considering the alternative.

I really just want a gelaskin to keep it from being scratched (even though it's supposed to be scratch resistent). I don't want a bumper, waiting to see if someone comes out with a clever skin for the metal edges.

only a blue bumper since i don't get scratches on my phone or drop it. i feel the bumpers raised edges are good so i can put my phone down without the surface touching the screen or back

After my son dropped my original iPhone enough to damage the touch layer so that the bottom 20px don't register input I bought an Otterbox Commuter TL for my 3G. Now I fee like I can pretty much chuck it across the street without anything happening to it its so protective (yet still slim). Great cases they make.

Ordered a $2 eBay TPU special + $1 screen protector. This is my first TPU case, my other iPhone cases have been eBay silicone -- actually I had an expensive Incase leather case for my iPhone 2G, but it fell apart within a year. I vowed never to spend more than $10 on a case ever again. I'm sick of silcone sticking to my pockets though so switching to TPU. This should do the trick as long as they are not too thick. If they are I'll look around for something thinner.

Can everyone posting in this thread please post a link (if it already hasn't been)?

I've already ordered the Sena UltraSlim (Tan) for my iPhone 4. I'd really hate to hide a device like the iPhone in a case that I couldn't remove. This one is very thin and offers basic protection from other items in my pocket.

You guys must not get a lot of phone calls or texts... Please tell me how you plan on using those cases. It seems like you would never be able to answer in time after getting it out.

They do look cool though.

Not sure what you mean... phone rings, pull it out of pocket and push up on the bottom so the phone comes out. Not as fast as some of the rubber cases, but just as fast as the majority of leather cases out there. If I'm at my desk, the phone is usually already out of the case sitting on the desk surface, or upright in an Apple dock.

That said, I probably use my phone for calls and texts slightly less than the average user.

I've had an InCase on both the 3G and 3GS and have really liked them. I contacted InCase today and ask when they would have cases up on their website for the iP4 and they said very soon.

I'm sure the new design has caused some delay in getting it out. I look forward to what they have to offer!

Zagg Invisible Shield????

Am I the only one with the thought in the back of my head that the very prominent "Orange Peel" effect on the IS is going to really put a damper on that incredible new hi resolution screen screen? I mean it'd be kinda like projecting a beautiful 1080p image on a wavy coarse screen right?

I'm planning to get a Vaja case. I really like the one for the 3G and it did a good job protecting it. The only difference is that I would do a solid color and no stripe since the two colors do bleed.

No, I thought of that too. Not specifically for the screen, but I hate the orange peel anyway, even on the back.
