It's actually been around for quite a while. 2006 Nano had a (RED) version, and in 2007 the shuffle had its first (RED) version.

WHITE!!!! I had a Black 3G and HATED the way fingerprints and smudges were amplified against the black...my White 3GS hides the prints and smudges much better...so definitely white for me this go around.

While notably more 'uncommon' than the black counterpart... it definitely shows its age more than black. Swapping to Black this go around
