Not a shock about the iPad Pro models, I mean, they’re very well could be an Apple keynote held in October that could debut these or as early as next spring.

Frustrating Keynote and not particularly inspiring but that’s the way it is these days.

Very iterative so hopefully next year we will see more innovation.

I’m more disappointed with the watch than the phone. I’m holding out until the phones are 5G compatible.

What you forgot: Apple's products need to be replaced when their owner needs more storage. The only reason I'm planning to sell my MBP 13" from 2016 is that my 256GB SSD is full. Well, another reason might be that it recently suffered the stagelight effect and needed a new screen. And a few months prior to that, the battery was swollen and was replaced. And then the keyboard had stuck keys. So I'm desperately looking for a replacement. But the current pricing structure is hard to bear, especially when living in the EU.

Thus making his point about (forced) planned obsolescence. My 2010 MPB has a 1 TB SSD, because I can...

This 16" MPB may be the year I finally upgrade though.

And no new Apple TV. Safe to go ahead and buy :apple:TV 4K now or wait til October?
That was a bit disappointing too. I'll just wait until a new model is released, however long it takes. I usually only buy Apple gear just after it's released.

I been saying that for the last few years. I'm actually kind of excited over the pixel 4... not because i hate apple or some crap, just genuinely interested what innovations they came up with that don't involve only the camera.
Yes, really; Why don't they just have "iCamera" events and the do a "And one more thing - it's also a phone"
Would be more truthful

Considering that this was not a significant upgrade, you would think if Apple was launching Apple Tags at an event next month, they would have just moved that up to this event and show it off as a primary feature for the iPhone 11. Weird. Makes me think it's not coming until Spring.

Was hoping to see something for the MBP. I am still using my late 2011 however, the battery has swelled up and I stopped using it. Waiting to see if I want to get a new battery or laptop. The 2011-2012 is one of their best MBP (design and specs) in my opinion; I've had no issues with it other than old battery.

Introducing the 10.2 today and leaving other iPads out and mentioning nothing about the iPad pros or an event down the line was a very confusing move by Apple.
What was the point??

If iPads belong to another event.. why introduce the 10.2 today???
Because no other new iPads till next year sometime. This was the iOS event.
October will be Mac focused.

I’m not expecting the new MacBooks in October, but hopefully new iMac / iMac Pro, Apple TV4K and Mac Mini. Maybe the smaller HomePod?

How could they not roll out a new Apple TV device to support the new + streaming service? Doesn't that seem like, ya know, the perfect way to sell a product? What is wrong with these people..

Edit: back in 2016 the 512GB SSD was quite/too expensive. So I got the 256GB, as I was sure that prices would drop significantly within three years. Boy I was wrong.

Lol, just buy a larger HDD and swap it. I have 1 TB SSD in my 17” 2011 MBP, no need for a new one until it dies.

Oh, what about the charging pad? Did that happen? Tee hee.

You seem to have missed that SDDs aren't replaceable anymore, and haven't been for a few years.

Apple uses NVMe SSD's that are proprietary. You can buy them separate from a few retailers but they'll run you a fortune. They are similar to mainstream SSD's, but the connector is different. It's a solid Steve Jobs move. He smirks in his grave every time someone opens their MBP to try for the upgrade, only to be met with frustration and failure.

Apple TV+ doesn’t roll-out until November 1st, making an Apple TV reveal more likely for October than at an iPhone and Apple Watch event.

There are simple adapters to get around this problem, but it doesn't matter anymore because the NAND is soldered to the logic board in all modern Apple notebooks. Furthermore, the SSD controller is embedded in the T2 chip now, so that ship has long sailed.

...aaaaand I'm back to being (somewhat) disappointed after an Apple Keynote.

It felt like one huge ad and had nothing for me, really.

Although to be fair, the Watch ad made the best case about owning one.

So waiting for a yet unannounced October event that will hopefully mirror WWDC in "hell yes" factor.

Because otherwise the presentation would have been _really_ sparse.
Slipping an old iPad into a different case have the opportunity to pad it out a bit with the 'education pricing' and some iPadOS hype. Without those; all they really did was show some differently coloured iPhones with improved cameras, and some differently coloured watches with improved displays.

Oh. And you can take out a subscription too.

This felt as one of the lamest keynotes in recent memory. You could tell it was spread thin with developers showing off game demos and VP's from technical departments describing chips.
