Ooooh I didn't know you can get Siri to read your new text messages. Going to use that one when I have my headset in!

For me I use Siri for things like "wake me up tomorrow at 7.30"

I use the reminder feature a lot. Ask for sports scores too. I also tell Siri to "ring___" great when you have your headset in. Also ask Siri for movie times tonight and for directions to places.

I'm coming from an iPhone 4 so only just appreciating how good Siri is!

All kinds of stuff. Directions, weather, football scores/game times, texts, phone calls, music, random trivia. It's great for checking my schedule in the car or getting weather while trying to wrangle my kid into his clothes.

I also always tell her thanks...I'm really weird like that.

I actually asked this one this morning in anticipation of tonight's game.

Oh I forgot you can do movies too. I said "when does Looper come out?" and she told me.

Same for times, ask what time a movie is playing and you'll get a list and a bunch of info about the movie (trailer, RottenTomaties rating, etc).

Didn't work very well for Dredd 3D though... she kept thinking I was saying "Dread", which is a different movie apparently, haha. I said "what time is Dredd 3D playing tonight?" and she said "here are all of the 3D movies playing tonight" or something like that.

I'd guess it works better with movies that have more distinct titles.

Productive...fine. While I'm driving I ask Siri to play particular songs for me. "Siri play (song name)." I have my phone connected via Bluetooth and I feel much safer doing that than searching through my phone for songs while I'm driving.

Last night it was handy - "find the nearest ATM" it was .3 miles away, I was there in like 20 seconds

...love this forum

Oh yay... a snarky elitist with nothing productive to add to a thread. What a surprise.

Actually, that's not completely accurate. Even though it was meant to be condescending, I found your post to be helpful. So thanks for pointing out that info button... I actually never noticed it before :D

But I am still interested in non-productive and/or amusing (gimmicky) things to ask, in addition to the productive stuff.

Haha, not elitist, just a straight to the point type of person. I don't post here often because of it. I do realize people like to be chatty on this forum, so have at it, I understand we all love our iPhones. I'll just sit here in the corner and pout.

NP with the screenshot btw. I didn't notice that button right away myself :)

I use it to make my grocery list. I have a list in reminders called “Grocery List,” and as I realize I need things I’ll say “Add milk to my grocery list,” and then Siri replies, “Ok, I’ve added it to your grocery list.”

Very useful.

I ask her to do alot. Set my morning alarm, set reminders, make calender appointments, start web searches, get directions, sport scores, text messages, open an app, send a quick email, dail a phone # for me, Find a business for me, what doesn't she do. Once you get use to using her for things I think it really makes things easier. At least it has for me.

"Tell my husband I am a block away PERIOD come outside now COMMA so I won't need to find parking PERIOD"

HERE IS YOUR MESSAGE TO _______. WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO SEND IT?

"Send."

yeah, that worked for me last night, but now she won't send any messages, create any reminders, or play any music! anyone have any ideas why she won't do those things now?

I have a commute to work so I use it for sending text messages & setting up reminders while driving using my bluetooth. I asked Siri what it was wearing once, it said, 'Now lets get back to work'.

Mine said 'aluminosilicate glass and stainless steel. Nice hu?'

• I ask her to read my texts occasionally.
• Play certain songs or albums or artists
• sending someone a message
• call people
• search things on safari
• Make reminders
• the weather
• Open apps

What I don't like about it is that if I have the phone in my pocket and use Siri through the headset and ask it something, it will frequently get touch feedback in my pocket and cancel the request before it is complete. I also don't like that if its in my pocket and I ask it to play a certain song through the headset, it will stay unlocked in my pocket after the request, so ill have to take my phone out of my pocket and lock it.

I guess Siri would be useful for people who are driving and where it would be distracting/dangerous to start tapping on your phone. However, I've yet to see a single person talk to Siri while on the sidewalk or subway since that feature came out.
