I use this one

It's so-so. For all the promises of a clean, close shave, this thing doesn't really live up to the hype.

Looks over-designed, but there is only so much you can to with floating heads.

I used one of these, for a short while, about 50 years ago. :p

Anthony Logistics pre-shave oil, shave cream, and after shave balm. It's brilliant. I also use their glycolic face wash which helps with shaving a lot.

I use some Philips electric razor. I like the normal razors because they get everything but my skin doesn't agree. I always get lots of rash and my whole face will be red.

Wade and Butcher

1870 Wade and Butcher 7/8 straight razor. Have a few others in the stable but this one takes the best edge for me. Should be good for another 300 years or so, long after Gillette has gone out of business. Use the Shapton 16000 stone for the final edge, to touch it up a couple of times a year.

I keep things as simple as possible. Knife + Wheel Bearing Grease. (it's good for the skin)

I have a beard—although with August around the corner, I might have to start looking respectable again—so I just cut my beard with scissors.

I've tried the electric razors and they just tear my face up. Disposables are equally harsh.

Gillette Fusion Power with EDGE for my face.

Norelco Bodygroom with EDGE for everything else.

How well does the Bodygroom work?

I'm doing a lot of out-of-office work, including a lot of field work, so I can afford the werewolf look, but I'm going to be teaching and running a professional advocacy group in the fall and I'll need to clean up and suit up.

Not a good choice, even in jest.

They are discovering more and more about pollutants and carcinogens leeching into the skin.

Remember what happened with benzene.

You know - that explains why every movie he's ever made since that one has been complete and utter (#@*. He got the drain bamage!
(re that pic - Vin Diesel - Pitch Black)

It works well, but I use it in the shower with gel. Never tried it dry.

The nice part is that if you let yourself get a bit unruly (read: haven't shaved your pits in a while), it has a clipper of sorts to trim it down for the foil to take care of the rest.

Braun Series 7 electric razor. Shaves just as well as a manual razor without the razor burn and mess of shaving cream.

To the people suffering razor burn - stupid as this sounds - try showering right beforehand. I used to get too rushed / impatient to wait long enough in the mornings, and I'd rash it up often. Soak that stubble real good before slicing away.

I'm sure 99% of everyone already knows this, however I was that 1% that didn't get the memo...

I wear a beard, but trim my neck a little.

You can also add some conditioner to your beard, to soften it while showering. I just use a quality pre-shave oil after a hot shower.
