Daily. Before leaving for work.

Same here. I generally don't shave on weekends and days off, though. My beard grows fast enough that it gets painful to shave after three days or so. I used a M3 Power for years, but it is getting hard to actually find those blades. The M3 Power handle can use regular Mach 3 blades, but they don't seem to work as well. Amazon has the blades for a decent price, but seems to have a problem with fakes.

I have used the Fusion and Proglide, and they work well enough, but they are expensive.

I shave with a Mach 3. That's it. No creams, lather, or even water. Just me and the blade(s). I don't need any of that "foo-foo" shiz. :p

I should shave everyday but I have been known for going up to 3-4 days without. I'm the boss so nobody can bitch at me but once the neckhair starts itching, I can't take it anymore. ;)

The guy who lived next to me while we were in grad school shaved the same way as you- a razor, no water, no cream, no nothing. I thought he was nuts....I guess I was right.:D:D:D

I tried doing that and it sucked, I need some amount of lubricant to make the whole thing painless.

My facial hair is really tough and grows fast, so I really do prefer having a beard.

I use some Philips electric razor. I like the normal razors because they get everything but my skin doesn't agree. I always get lots of rash and my whole face will be red.

An axe'll do that ;)

I used Mach3 for years, but I finally got sick of dealing with the expense of the blades, shaving cream, etc, and bought myself a nice midrange Braun3 series. Would've gone with a 7, but then I saw the price tag...

Works great - I stay clean shaven mostly because having facial hair is a pain. I only need to do a quick trim every 2-3 days, which isn't bad. Low maintenance FTW :)

I've used Norelco electric razors for the past 20 years or so. As long as I shave every day, it can handle my beard just fine. I go back to the other way every few years but soon get tired of the routine and go back to my Norelco. :D

I found some nice products on Amazon, a new badger brush with a stand and a nice stainless steel bowl, so I'm going to invest in a hundred bucks worth of nice stuff. I have a cheap boars hair brush and an old bowl that isn't satisfying at all.

It may be worth while to spend some time on the badgerandblade sight, or straightrazorplace...

Get a nice badger brush, you don't need to spend a lot of money, but it will last you for many years ...

I haven't read the entire thread, but have you moved away from the Proraso cream? You should give Taylor of Old Bond Street's Avocado cream a couple shaves; that stuff is amazing.

Dang, me too. By day three I have to use a Gilette sensor to get things back under control, and then it's back to the Norelco.

I'm already there. :)

I might give that a shot. I love the smell and the rich lather of Proraso, though. Plus through Amazon, stuff like that is cheaper than the store.

Oh, forgot to ask what brand of badger brush you have. I found this one on Amazon, looks nice.

Panasonic ES-LA93 - best shave EVER (for an electric, anyway).

You brush and lather guys have me intrigued. I think I might like to give that (and a good safety razor) a try. Any suggestions?

I love the Proraso shave cream and the pre-post cream. I wouldn't get something too expensive, just enough to see if you like it. Trust me, shaving this way is much much more enjoyable. You don't make a mess, you don't get lather all over your hands and the brush massages your face and makes it easier to get a smoother shave.

I'm not worried about the mess, since I shave in the shower.

I've heard of some really good results with a good brush and cream or soap, and a safety razor. I just have no idea where to begin, or where to shop.

I don't like creams since they don't lather

All good creams lather (Proraso is a cream, btw). It's the cheap, new-school stuff that doesn't lather. It also doesn't do a very good job.

West Coast Shaving is a good place to shop as well.
