I don't like it.

The price doesn't so much bother me because even if I wouldn't have seen the price, I still wouldn't have been a fan of it.

Pretty much how I see it.

I'm more interested in the style than the brand. If they had a gucci one that actually looked decent and was functional maybe I'd reconsider.

Victorinox Altmont 2.0 Digital Day Bag. Shown in moss color, also comes in black or red. $35.99

This is the bag I got for mine. Nice, but not overpriced.

Why pay nearly as much for a case as you do the device? With that kind of cash just go caseless and buy new if anything were to happen.

$390 you say? Does it come with a second case to protect it. And maybe a third case to protect the other two, Russian doll style :)

There's no accounting for taste.

Why cover such a beautiful peace of technology with something so ugly?

:D

But seriously, not a big fan of fashion name brands. I am fine with small USA designers who tend to focus more on function than form...like Tom Bihn or Waterfield designs.

I don't like logo stuff, so no.

I bought this for my iPad, in marigold, and this for my iPad 2, in purple. The company is American-owned and they make everything by hand. Their stuff is gorgeous, extremely well made, and very protective... I like this case better than anything I've seen elsewhere.

Also bought cases from them for all of my Kindle versions - and two checkbook covers too! :D

What do I think? The only people that can pull it off are the Khardashian sisters, Paris Hilton, and maybe Snooki. Yes, they'll still look pretentious but that is what they do best.

It costs $390. What do you guys think about it?

I had the Graphite Damier iPhone 3GS case. It was very well made and not many people actually knew the brand. It was rugged and protected the device very well. I also still have the Graphite Damier card holder/wallet. They wear very well.

I like the higher-end designer items (LV, Gucci, BV, etc.), but not necessarily the items that are logo heavy.

However, with that said, I am using a $35 Incase Origami sleeve for my iPad 1.

I would love to get this Karung leather iPad case.

I have plenty of fashionista friends who love LV and Gucci, but as soon as we see the Gucci scrotum or the LV ghettogram the first thing that pops into our minds is "this person has no taste."

OP-I'm Sorry you're getting so many rude replies. I think if you like it, and it makes you happy, then you should go for it! Don't worry about what anyone here says. ;)

Congrats on your iPad!! Enjoy it, and whatever new case you decide on! :)

Is there a Damier brown sleeve for the iPad? I only saw it in graphite (black) so far!
I have most of my LV stuff in brown damier so I was looking for something to match... Today I will take a peek at fifth ave LV!

I don't remember seeing anything in the past other than the iPhone case in brown damier.

I've always despised the LV pattern. Give me flat black or distressed brown any day of the week over that.

Quality or not, you are paying for the Logo.

Agreed. My assumption about MacRumors is that they only care about Apple products/technology and kind of don't know anything about fashion/"trend", and this thread kind of confirmed it.

Fashion & Trends =/= Style IMO

OP; the thread doesn't confirm anything. You've reached a very small and statistically insignificant sample size.

However, I don't like the case. Not an issue of style, but of functionality. I don't like slip covers. Now, if LV made a nice black leathery case that would allow me to use the iPad without removing it I would consider.

Is it overpriced (your choice)? No, not if that is what floats your boat. The design hurts my eyes.

Tom

Hey, the OP asked for opinions.

The case I recommended is pricy, but in my opinion, it is totally worth the money.

If you want to spend a fortune on an iPad case, at least go with Vaja.

Oberon Design are also awesome, as are Waterfield Design, Noreve, Piel Frama. Stick with people who make premium quality protective cases for a living... not this ugly, obnoxious trash.

If LV is a trend, then this is the 90s.
;)

Sorry, let me rephrase that - it may have been a "trend" in the 90s, but now it's known as a luxurious brand worldwide. So yes, it is kind of a status symbol.

No, no, it's okay! Like I said, this IS a technology forum. It's like me going to a football game and asking the guys if they wanna go to the Prada to see some stuff, they'll all be like "What??:confused:". It's the exact same thing here. Not trying to be stereotypical, but most of the time when someone knows about technology, the other half of their brain does not know anything about fashion.

I use to be on the same boat as everyone here - "LV?? Ew, everyone has that, it's overplayed, etc." I do agree with it, but it wasn't until I was actually in a Louis Vuitton store that I started to realize why people buy them. The quality of the product, the feel, touch... It was just luxurious.

So, by any chance are you a sales clerk in a Louis Vuitton store? Sure sounds that way to me!

To the person who mentioned Vaja: yes, wonderful iPhone case (I have one that I am still using, actually) -- Never got around to exploring their options for the iPad...probably I should. Beautiful, good quality materials used in their manufacturing process and none of this logo crap.

louis vuitton makes some amazing stuff. their epi leather is an example of feeling luxurious and seeing why it's so expensive - the design and craftsmanship is flawless on many of their pieces. monogram canvas? played out and hideous. it's a status symbol among those who demand to flash their wealth in front of everyone and be as loud as possible about it - the gaudy nouveau riche. i'd take an epi leather case or a damier graphite case from LV over anything with the awful monogram.
