Actually the current 3G network is fast enough to handle iChat, AT&T simply doesn't feel confident their network could handle all of the simultaneous connections from iPhone users. Video chat was available back in the days of the 56k baud modem, really poor, none the less it was do-able.

I would really like to see video iChat become available on this model, though I doubt it will.

If I remember correctly 4G is capable of 150 MBs. I could be wrong as it's been ages since I last read a brief on 4G tech. Initially we should see 4G launching at 50 MBs and increasing at AT&T's pleasure.

WOW, that will awesome, I'm sad to find out that I was off on the 4G roll out dates! :( Guess we'll have to wait longer.

So when do you think Apple will do the iChat thing? Next year? I mean AT&T's 3G network should be much faster and more stable by then, but when they go to 4G they will probably be scared while the 4G network is in its infancy too, so they have to pull the trigger some time. My bet is next year. Thoughts?

I agree with the majority of posts here that we will probably see upgraded internals with a small visual change, but would they change the battery tech and create smaller versions of the battery in the 17" MBP? would this even be possible?

Whatever gets announced, if there is a new iPhone, i will most probably pick it up

Whatever it is - I think it'd be fun to hack zflow a bit
and get it working for websites. With maybe some Speculative Loading, and a nice Imaginations Technologies multicore to wash it down.

I am so hoping this is the next iPhone.

Looks as if the screen is a bit wider to me.

By far my favorite concept yet. Sadly it probably won't change towards this design at all. I'll keep dreaming though. :D

I wish Apple retains the same form factor..........just bought a 120 bucks vaja case..... :p dont wanna throw that away :D

New I phone?

I was going to purchase the I phone on Friday, however, I was informed that the new software update may also have a new I phone with it? Can you elaborate on this.

im loving the look of this one too! the around around the home button looks really nice too... more distinguised from the rest of the screen than on the current 3g

I think the thinner the better. You can always get a case to make it thicker if its uncomfortable. To me the thinner it is, the smaller it is in my pocket, the more comfortable it is. Guys can't carry purses ya know.

Similar to the current one, yet more like the first one. (Hits of aluminum and black, just like every other current apple product)
..& I hope they get rid of as much chrome as possible!

I Really like this design, however, the gap in the glass at the bottom for the home button could cause problems with dust in my opinion. But other than that its great

"What do you think the new iPhone will look like?"

...hopefully better then my current 1st Gen iPhone. Its being held together by duck-tape. This new iPhone better be out soon!

Dude- that would be funny and awesome.

"Ok- no prob At. You are free to enable it at any time. Some people might ask about it though... anyway good luck with enabling it when you decide."

Hmmmm... Nokia did this on several of their models offering VoIP because some network operators were afraid of losing out - other had no issue and VoIP was still available.

I had to debrand my N81 in order to unlock the feature.

Yes i love this one too, but those "so called spec's" that came out in the last couple of days said the iPhone doesn't have the chrome trim anymore.

I am so hoping this is the next iPhone.
