Of course a lot of the UI needs polishing and refining, but if iOS 8 doesn't fix the music app that was broken in 7 (but absolutely perfect on 6), then that will be the major deal breaker when I'm looking for a new smartphone this year. I don't want to leave the iPhone, but if Apple can't fix the music playing experience (which pretty much brought them back into relevance), then I might have to look elsewhere.
I love the Apple ecosystem and the overall experience with the products, but my iPhone used to be my only music player and since the app took a few design and functionality hits in iOS 7, I mainly reserve my old 80GB iPod classic for music.
Healthbook and the other rumored features sound nice but I want my iPhone to regain the iPod functionalities that were lost courtesy of iOS 7. There's a lot of things that Apple needs to fix in future updates but if they can remedy the issues in the music app, I will be fairly content with iOS 8.
modify the bubble color for sms, for some reason the green bubble hurts; it's too "neon"
Yeah but it tells you if it's an imesagge or a text message
Perhaps, at least tone it down. Make it less neon maybe for the bubbles.
Make sure you at least look at the music app on Android phones before you commit. You could be going from bad to worse. I'm curious as to what's so bad about the music app?

Photos and documents share via bluetooth with Android, WP devices...
Just tell everyone you know to get Apple devices....
I am personally hoping that Apple will give something like free iCloud storage equal to your device's storage, which will mean that you always have enough room to back up your entire device each night. So if I buy the 128 gb iPad, I get 128 gb of iCloud storage free (maybe with the caveat that the storage only works for backing up that device).
That would really help justify the insanely high costs of going to the next storage tier.
5gb is definitely a joke. I easily have 7 gb of photos in my iphone, and I don't even consider myself an avid photographer. And that's not counting other stuff like iWork's documents, PDFs in notability and good reader, and other saved files.
Emmm in my country there aren't any subsidize for smartphones. So by current prices brand new iPhone 5S= two Galaxy S4, even iPhone 4S cost more than Galaxy S4. Not even talking about cheapier android smartphones.Furthermore, not everyone spends so much money for smartphone...
I was joking - but it probably doesn't work for non native English speakers.
I assume you want to be able to send them pictures of your shiny iDevice just to make them jealous?
Well you don't need the same amount of space as your phone cuz it only backs up data my things like the apps only the data from the apps.
