These types of threads are always fun to speculate. As a basic consumer, I’d like to see a new, high end, Apple TV streaming box with AI/Machine Learning based image enhancement, similar to the Nvidia Shield. Basically, I’d love an Apple alternative to the Nvidia Shield, all with the high level of polish Apple is typically known for.

Other than that, I’d like to see more competition from other companies. Innovation has stagnated all around. Apple is so far ahead with consumer and prosumer hardware that they don’t really need to innovate a whole lot. They’re the clear leaders in so many areas, everyone else is just barely trying to keep up.

Apple might finally be our savior for getting away from x86. I’m really hoping Microsoft and other companies make a push toward ARM, or otherwise RISC architectures.

I guess what I’d really love to see in 2021 is Apple inspiring the whole market to change for the better.

An apology for the ARM fiasco and a return to the x64 architecture, with the addition of Ryzen processors to the lineup.
You’re out of your mind - the ARM-based Macs are the best thing to happen to the Macs in a decade, and they pave the way for marvelous new Macs in the future, that are going to leave x86(-64) systems in the dust. There’s zero chance of them going back, and I’m really happy about that, and you should be too.

I'd love to see that crazy vantablack-style 16" MacBook Pro (M1/M1x/M2) that was mentioned here a few weeks ago. On top that, of course, I'd love to see the devs of software I use regularly fully support Apple Silicon... but that's not Apple's gig, obviously.

I really hope other manufactures copy Apple again. Especially for mobile devices, we need to get off of x86 in general. It’s suboptimal nowadays. I don’t know if ARM is the future forever, but I do know x86 is done. Modern X86 processors basically just translate x86 to a RISC-like architecture under the covers, anyway. There’s a lot of extra, kind of pointless silicone to get that done.

I want to see a software update that fixes Safari and stops asking me to sign in with my Apple ID everytime I turn on the computer.
I want to see Apple return to simplicity and stop turning into Microsoft by forcing us to use 2 factor authorization and icloud. Stop bugging me Timmy!

Definitely improvements in split/multi screen functionality on iOS. Preferably on iPhone and iPad, but at the very least on the iPad. Not being able to open multiple windows of different apps at a time genuinely hampers me personally. Also more adaptable widgets would be very appreciated, personally.

I'd like to see iCloud be more reliable sync-wise too. And I'm sure it would be impossible now but I'd love to see a return to iOS devices without bumps!

Lossless option for streaming Apple Music -- How can apple, with all its emphasis on multimedia professionals and music, be such a laggard in offering good music quality?
Because A/B blind testing shows that people can’t tell the difference between lossless and well encoded music like 256kbps AAC (iTunes Plus, what AM uses). Good mastering affects music quality more honestly.

I’d like an Apple TV that can replace my stereo. That is, have one or two HDMI-in ports (for a game console or Blu-ray player or both) that I can switch to. I’d like to use HomePods as speakers for my existing Apple TV but that box doesn’t think anything else exists. Oh - and redesign that god-awful remote while you’re at it. Also, ENFORCE STANDARDS. The various streaming apps all interpret things differently. What is a 10 second skip in one app is fast forward in another app and “skip to next episode” in yet another.

Periscope lens
Split screen apps
Pencil support for iPhone
Dex equivalent
Foldable phone
In display finger print sensor

Hardware changes

1. New re-designed iMac with the new M chip. (Insist buy for me)
2. Touch ID as well as Face ID on the new iPhones
3. 120 Hz on the new iPhones
4. Improved battery life on all new phones
5. New Qualcomm chip on the new iPhones
6. Cheaper AirPods Max
7. Rose Gold or a deep purple color on the Pro Models

Software Changes

1. Eliminate the workaround via shortcuts or give us the option for full customization with a theme store
2.More 3rd options for default apps (I would like to make Spotify the default instead of Apple Music)
3. To be able to place app wherever on Homescreen
4. Split Screen multitasking on the iPhone
5. Interactive Widgets and live wallpaper options
6. Option to have a guest mode on both the iPad and the iPhone
7. To be able to place widgets on the Homescreen on the iPad (I don’t know why they transfer they did not transfer this feature from iPhone to iPad.
8. More Pro apps on the iPad.

Snoopy and Peanut character watch faces. That is all I want, and that is all any of us really need. I had a yellow Snoopy watch back in the 70s, and Snoopy had a tennis racket in his hand. The second hand was a "tennis ball" that floated as it went around. The Apple Watch face selection is very meager, to say the least.

An updated Apple TV (I hate my LG TV’s OS), M1(1.5/2) Macbook Pro, TouchID on iPhone/iPad, and a redesign to the Apple Watch

I’d like Apple Cash and the Apple Card in the U.K.
that and usb-c everywhere.
Other than that I would love something that is as mind blowing as the first iPhone was. It’s a big ask but that was such a jaw dropping day it’d be great to get that feeling again.
I'd also like the Apple Card here in the UK, but only if it has no foreign exchange fees. Oh, and we must also get the same benefits that US customers get, like 3% off Apple products. It's about time this was released in the UK.

🙌🏼 yes - would like nothing more then a new 5k Thunderbolt Display that is less then $2000 to go with these new m1 MacBooks.
The $1300 LG 5K Thunderbolt monitor, which Apple sells on their site, is very nice. I've been using one with my work MacBook Pro since it came out (and it's very convenient to have the monitor act as a docking station, with a single cable connected to the laptop providing video, power, and USB accessories).

On iPhone, ability to zoom in on any screen, and then scroll around, so I don’t have to fish out my reading glasses. Might have to make the screen go into a photo-like read-only mode until it’s set back to normal size, but that would be ok.
Settings app > Accessibility > Zoom.

Use three fingers to double-tap and it zooms in. Three-finger double-tap again and keep your fingers on the screen then move up or down to increase/decrease the zoom level. Three-fingers on the screen and move around to pan around the display. Three-finger double-tap to exit zoom.

A 16 inch Macbook Pro with the M(whatever) performance and capabilities and be able to run natively Windows via bootcamp. That or at least be able to play natively AAA games and emulate some Windows apps on MacOS. I know that the ball of the games question is on the roof of developers but let me dream 😅

I don’t care if the display is mini led or a CRT or if it is a new design or not, I want powerhorse and compatibility.

I’d like to see a new Apple silicon iMac worthy of the “new” badge. The iMac designs were always so groundbreaking. I’d love if the next one was as dramatic. With so many people permanently moving to remote work, it seems like a brilliant time to rethink the computer that brought the mac back. Have an awesome camera for video conferencing. Maybe even with a ring light. Get FaceID on there. Let’s see Apple M processors unconstrained by battery requirements. And do something fun. Put it on an arm like the angel poise iMac or no bezels at all or touch screen or easel style like Microsoft’s Surface Studio. SOMETHING AWESOME.

  • stable reliable software
  • reliable hardware(higher quality standard
  • function over form
  • care put into MacOS
  • improved finder and spotlight
  • iOS browsing that is reliable not dumbed down
  • better text selection on iOS
  • freedom to choose any search as default instead of a curated list
  • Ability to update software independent from OS upgrade.

First, finish almost the entire lineup change to their chips. (pro can wait till June of 2022 as a less of a slap in the face of current pro owners, but understand if they don't wait and the pro's won't care or will upgrade right away).
14 inch macbook pro. Also make a 14 inch Air (but I don't think you'll do that even though I'd buy that laptop day 1).
27 inch iMac redesign, that can easily run two additional 4k display's and legacy ports (I think they'll remove them and I can handle that but annoying).
If they release a new desktop keyboard have it be as least as much travel as the current laptops, but preferable go back to the old style the wired keyboards had until 2017. My favorite board they've ever made, and basically I just want that but wireless/charge by lightening cable. (in black and white, with both a ten key and smaller size)

iPad (cheapest) refresh with laminated glass.

A year off from an actual Mac OS refresh but instead a refinement stabilization of Big Sur. (I don't think they'll do this, but OS is mature at this point and doesn't need a yearly refresh. Or, make the next update be just that, a refinement).
iPhone to get the same power button touch ID as current iPad airs. Keep the mini around, making another one next year. Keep the rest of the sizes the same as well, the 12 Pro/regular pro are a great size as the standard phone.
A new iPhone SE that is in the same body as an iPhone X (or 12, but prefer the slightly smaller size for the SE). I think this will happen, but in 2022 spring, and based around the iPhone XR is my guess.
More color options for the pro laptops. (Gold, a real black and a Blue maybe? Or maybe bring just gold/black as well, but bring colors to the airs maybe? It's okay to have fun colors on work laptops Apple, I promise if you promote it they can be cool again. New decade and all that.)
an iPod classic refresh. Make it retro limited addition. Let it work wirelessly with AirPods, and maybe spotify/apple music if you want to, or just classic itunes/music if you want. Again, colors. make it 256-512-1TB, and $299-$399-$499.
