Not trying to challenge you but what kind of tasks are you talking about? I hear people make this criticism of iPhones all the time but I almost never hear concrete examples.
Give me automation/shortcuts that match macrodroid and tasker. Right now, I can’t even automate when my phone turns on vpn or not. iOS thinks it’s users are 6 year olds. Here you have this beautiful piece of powerful hardware that is pretty much wasting away as an expensive media viewer rather than the powerful tool for work it could be.

+1

We need the equivalent of a Snow Leopard release, which was focused on performance and tightening up the code and less on new features.
iOS performance is great, at least for me. It should be since it’s incredibly locked down and simple. What we need is a complete rethinking of what iOS needs to be. Many business/tech users need the ability to customize the phone for their needs and iOS just isn’t designed for that. Simply, we need OS X on the phone. The hardware is ready.

the upgrade of ram from 16gb to 32gb should cost no more than $200.

$1099 mac mini with 10 core cpu, 16 core gpu

-A smaller phone, with a battery life better than the mini
-a slimmed down and optimized iOS that’s less about features
- a heavily optimized MacOS like 10.6
- fair prices for small accessories (charge cables etc)
-beter repairability
-beter upgrading (replace m1 etc)

In 2022 I want Apple to admit that they have slipped in product quality, in privacy and security, etc. Among other things, I want them to admit that the inventors of CSAM are correct in calling the technology dangerous, and to agree with security experts and customers on the issue. They have no business building front doors to their devices when there are already leaks and holes that keep happening. I don't even need them to fix anything, since I no longer expect that from them. I just want them to admit that they are wrong about something and to stop sabotaging their own devices. But I don't believe they will change anything. I expect them to keep heading the same direction in terms of product quality and privacy/security. I am just answering the question.

1. Get back to Privacy as a default not just for everyone else but Apple too!
2. Don’t release software before it’s ready. We don’t need new versions every year.
3. Adequate base level memory 8gb is just not enough 32 gb should be a minimum.
4. Stop making devices unfixable or non-upgradable. Make an effort to work with the right to repair issue.
5. Mac Pro’s should be more powerful by a large margin or less time between refreshes. Infinitely upgradable to the next version of OS.
I’m sure there’s a lot more but this is right of the top of my head.

1. The ability for my hearing aids to work with my MacBook Air like my iPhone SE (1st gen).
2. iPhone SE3
3. The next MacBook Air to be smaller with MagSafe and upgradeable RAM but still have a 13" screen.

Fix the wonky camera orientation during FaceTime  on the IPP.

I am yet to sign up to the MKB, so impress me with the upcoming redesign, 3rd time is a charm I hope!

In the interim, I am using the Keychron keyboard with my M1 IPP 12.9”

Bring back the fingerprint sensor, get rid of Face ID entirely! It’s always been crud anyway
WTH are you talking about? FID works great for me. Far fewer fails than TouchID EVER had. It was one of the reasons I went with a new iPP, because it has FID. Sure on the phone it has an issue with masks. but there is a workaround for those, and they won't be with us forever. I have FID on my iPhone and iPP, and LOVE it.

1) A phone-size (4") iPhone
2) Elimination of iOS's easter-egg interface, where so many hidden features, swipes, clicks and pinches are useless and annoying. I either can't easily do what i want, or I'm constantly doing something i DON'T want, by accident.
3) A final (NOT fond) farewell to FaceID - the worst user experience Apple has foisted on users in a long time.

1. Compact GaN universal USB C charger
2. Focus on strengthening macOS, iOS and iPadOS to iron out all bugs (interoperability between 3 OS should not crash and burn)
3. Make productivity software (mail, numbers, reminders etc) really "productive"

Mac mini M1 Pro Max with 32GB or 64GB memory. But also able to use an EGPU Box.

ALSO

32 and 64 Core Threadripper Mac Pro.
The minute a Mac Mini with M1 Max is announced, I'll buy one. I really want the new hardware but don't want or need a laptop. EGPU capability would be really great too.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a Threadripper Mac Pro... ?

1. Mac mini Pro (or Mac Pro mini), please.
2. Backlight for desktop keyboard.
3. To improve font rendering on non HiDPI displays
Like all three of these, although #3 reminds me that I'd also love to see better UI scaling in Mac OS. Every app does not need to run at the same effective resolution.
