Unlike Microsoft who put their software on every platforms available, Apple seems to prefer people buying macs. So the experience on Windows will always be second class

Yes and what a smart way to convince people to switch to Apple hardware. "Look how s****y the software we built runs on other platforms! Now, please go spend 2x-3x compared to what you paid for your PC on some of our hardware instead, so you can see how it runs on there."

Apple is foolish not to make the experience better for everyone; it's more revenue they could be receiving for a product that doesn't even require manufacturing something physical.

A monitor that is actually capable of displaying 8K streams. You know, those things Apple brags that it can edit multiple of in real time, yet still can't actually *see* them in their reality.

Allow point to point communications without using cellular towers. Like when your on vacation and want to talk to your family on the ship and your in the shore. We can do this now with WiFi and Bluetooth apps but the range is limited.

I’m hoping to see continued innovation across macOS hardware and software. Macs are incredibly fun again, ever since the M-series chips. I was quick to jump on the M1 MacBook Air when it was released and I’ve enjoyed every second using it. Can‘t wait to see the rumored 15” version. This time the rumors will pan out, I’m sure.

Would also like to see new and improved displays in 30” and/or 32”.

I’ve said it before. I would like Apple to put some emphasis on the word “Home” in HomePod. I would like to see something along the lines of the Google Nest Hub, serving as a family Hub for photos, calendars, and much more.

I find iPhones rather boring these days and the same goes for the iPad and watches. I don’t see that changing in 2023.
Looking forward to seeing Apples AR/VR developments finally come to fruition, however at the rumored price point I won’t be buying.

I want to see the long time rumor of Apple Watch glucose monitoring to come to fruition this year. I am due for a new Apple Watch since I have had mine since fall 2019.

everything now is maybe the best  has provided.

Oh
what will OS VENTURA be named in October, 2023?

So many fantastic wants in this thread. I hope Apple reads this one… and acts on many of these. Contrary to the terrible put-down sometimes attributed to Apple, consumers CAN know what they want before Apple has to show it to us. I’d love to see a LOT of this.

My own top 10 wishes:
  • Snow leopard-type year or two, focused on “just works” bug fixes vs. new, sometimes-gimmicky features.
  • Return to taking the U in USB seriously. I can’t believe “unexpected ejections” of USB hardware that remains reliably connected on Intel Macs is still a thing. Yes, I know this is covered by bullet 1 but it means so much to me, I wanted to give it its own bullet.
  • See bullet 1 & 2 😉
Just those “3” would be enough for me in 2023. "Just works" was so great. "Only a future software update away" excuses do not soothe that pain at all.

However, if there must be more…
  • Adopt USB-C across the board. Jettison Lightning at last. Like 30-pin and Firewire before it, it had its day... and then some... and then more... and then too many more. Fully embrace the standard you (Apple) started pushing in that MB all those years ago.
  • MB Air 15”
  • Ultra-wide monitor with KVM hub, a better mix of standardized jacks than Thunderbolt only, and more than one input for old-fashioned bootcamp (with a separate PC) for those who need it.
  • Continuity camera or equivalent for AppleTV and the biggest screens in our home.
  • Standards-based SSD and RAM expansion options revival. Apple pricing is too high. Let it be tier 2 storage and RAM so we can still get the fastest proprietary configs but also have modestly slower expansion of both with standardized parts. Those focused on speed can pay the premium. Those focused on price can trade max speed. Those who want/need to expand over time would have a way that doesn’t involve dumping the whole computer.
  • iPad mini Pro with iPhone MAX cameras AND reviving the headphone jack so we can hear that lossless music quality that isn't able to fit into the bluetooth, "the future" alternative.
  • Surprise & excite us with “the next iPhone”-level product launch, whatever that may be. It's been a long time since a classic "next big thing" from Apple. Iterations of past big things are all nice, etc but show us something truly new.
Bonus: I can appreciate PPW as much as the next guy, but I also don't mind paying a couple of extra dollars each month for more electricity usage on desktop Macs that don't need to worry about sipping battery power. Crank up the processing power there to get MORE done FASTER so we don't have to run to PPW arguments to win comparison contests vs. IBM & AMD. I really will not miss the few dollars in extra electricity bill if it buys me getting things done much quicker. Show me what Silicon can do on that battlefield instead of redirection to PPW.
