2) Stopping this ridiculous yearly OS release cycle. They get most of the bugs worked out just in time to release a new version with new bugs.
Desiring Apple slow down OS release cycle won’t happen ever again from a marketing perspective. All the more progressive technology companies do the same. They want to maintain high visibility with press as WWDC is the kickoff event for the next year cycle of hardware and software releases.

On Friday, we shared a What to Expect Guide that highlights everything we're expecting to see from Apple in 2023, based on current product rumors and historical release data.

What-Do-You-Want-to-See-2023-Feature.jpg

We're counting on the release of the mixed reality headset that Apple has been working on for years now, along with the Apple silicon Mac Pro and a number of other refreshed Macs. There's an iPhone 15 with a USB-C port in the works, and we could get new HomePod and AirPods Max refreshes.

We know what we think we're going to be seeing from Apple in 2023, but we want to hear opinions and wishlists from the MacRumors community. What do you want to see Apple release this year?

Are there new iPhone features you're hoping for, or something new in iOS 17 or macOS 14? What are you wanting to see from Apple's AR/VR headset?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments, and take a look at our What to Expect guide to see an overview of the current rumors. We'll learn a lot more about Apple's 2023 product plans in the coming months, and we'll have in-depth coverage of the rumors here at MacRumors.com.

If you want to discuss Apple's upcoming products and rumors, our MacRumors forums are an excellent resource, plus they're a great place to get help on current Apple products and software options.

As always, thank you to our readers and forum members for making MacRumors the number one source for Apple news, rumors, and advice. MacRumors celebrated its 22nd birthday this year, and that's thanks to our dedicated readers. We are looking forward to another year of rumors in 2023. Happy New Year!

1. iMac Pro. To try to cobble one together from xdr and max studio would cost roughly infinity dollars. Would also love 30-32” but I know that won’t happen.

2. While we’re dreaming here: iPhone 15 Pro Nano. Small form factor without sacrificing camera.

3. Some smart home gear with hardcore privacy as the defining feature. That whole market sucks.

An honest Apple - admit that it is all about the money!
Apple is not a non-profit. Their #1 job is to make money for their owners. Does this somehow shock you?

Their primary mission is not securing social justice for people despite what some seem to think.

- iPad classic with 6GB RAM. iPad with home button and not in the power button. The current iPad is just an iPad Air SE.
- Macs with upgradable RAM and storage. Not just the Mac Pro.
- Decoupled CPU and GPU upgrades in Macs. Why do I need the biggest CPU to get the biggest GPU?

In addition to what was previously mentioned…
Stable iOS..
Overhaul of iTunes for Windows..

Enable iOS file management so users can finally transfer files (drag n drop) to/from the iPhone to/from the computer.
It would make life so much easier instead of using 3rd party software for file management. iTunes for Windows is severely limited, limited & outdated.

Also, fix the iPhone lineup… all Pro version…
Mini/SE (5.x”)
Regular (6.1”) w/128gb min
Max/Ultra/Supreme (6.7+”) w/ 256gb min, considering it’s the highest priced model
USB-C would be nice for fast file transfers.

iPhone Apple Pencil.
Not to take anything away from your suggestion but that's basically a stylus and it goes directly against the original vision of the iPhone. Plus the screen is so small it'd be awkward to use.

Same thing I've been wanting for the last 23 years... touchscreen Mac.

What’s your use case here?
Ever since the design goal for Mac Os became inducing odd desires ( "when you see it you want to lick it": Steve Jobs
roughly 23 years ago) it is no wonder people wants to use different body parts to interact with the operating system.

What I want is for Apple to start giving a damn about Windows clients, a platform their cloud products claim to support. Many of us have no choice but to use multiple platforms.

1. "Apple Music" for Windows -- it's LONG overdue.
2. "Messages" for iCloud (or simply a Windows client).
3. *FIX* iCloud Drive for Windows so it's not a dodgy, inconsistent piece of junk.

If you're going to sell a cloud product and market it in a way that indicates it's compatible with Windows, which has a HUGE user base, make it worth work a damn.
Only iTunes for Windows is bad enough that MacOS Music looks good!

No, it doesn't shock me. They should just admit it or at least stop with the pretentious BS. Keyword, in case you missed it: honest

A proper iPad Pro including iPad OS (Pro). Release the beast. Open the Boot loader. No trust in your own Security Environment?

As consolation prize: A reasonable Mac Mini product line. Not every Apple product needs to have 40 - 60+ percent margins. Basic Mini for 500 or less, Mini Pro starting at 700(16GB RAM/256GB SSD/ lower GPU core), 1000(32GB/1TB).

Apple announced their 2-year transition to custom silicon at the start of the pandemic. It’s reasonable to say that the pandemic had an impact on the initial plans. However, I doubt it’s the only reason we haven’t seen an Apple Silicon Mac Pro. Its a big challenge to make their chips compete with and outperform the current Mac Pro as well as provide the type of modularity that isn’t available on any other Mac platform.

In 2023, I would like Apple to put out or get out in regards to the Mac Pro. Show us what you got, or admit that the Mac Studio is the most powerful machine the company will offer and that Apple is done with Mac Pro for the foreseeable future.

In Camera, the ability to turn on the flashlight and take a picture; no flash, just the flashlight.

In Camera, use LIDAR to scan 3D objects and room surfaces

More 3rd party apps should have their features available in Photos->Edit options (...).

In Photos app, a picture's information (i) should have the ability to change the file name and size right there. It would be nice to also capture weather information the moment the picture was taken and have it right there.

AirPods Max 2 has to be lossless.

Will Mac mini Pro be smaller?...like Apple TV
