I’d like Finder to be better. For example viewing images in finder is a real PITA in terms of sizing.

From a hardware point of view, I’d like to be able to have more performance and less efficiency cores. For example on my M1 Pro 10 core, the 8P 2E arrangement is way better than the M3 Pro 12 core 6P 6E.

And then I obviously to everyone except Apple, make Logic Pro utilise E cores rather than just P cores.

- A new iteration of the original iPhone SE, or 12/13 mini. With a screen that does not give me nausea.
- 12" MacBook. While I'm not in the market for it any longer (just bought an M2 MBA) , it would be nice to see the line return.
- More iCloud storage in each of the existing payment plans. Or a new, affordable 500GB plan. I'm running out of space in the 200GB plan, but the 9,99€ 2TB plan is too much for my liking & needs.

Bug fixes and performance improvements. Nothing else. No new major versions until a massive year-long bug bash is done.

- 5.8” IPS LCD Liquid Retina iPhone. I don’t care if it comes with 1, 2, 3 or 4 cameras, as long as it doesn’t protrude too much.

- 12” MacBook (Air), extremely light weight, powered by an M3 or M4 SoC. I don’t care if it’s slightly underclocked, but please don’t forget about MagSafe.

As you can see, the only thing I ask Apple at this point, are smaller and lighter devices with no OLED screens.

Things I want but know I won't get

  • Sideloading on American iPhones and iPads. I would actually buy an iPad Pro right now if we got that
  • Lower Mac prices
  • A Macbook SE
  • A price cut on the Vision Pro
  • macOS dualboot mode for iPad Pros
  • D3DMetal being made open source
  • A system wide compatibility layer for games being implemented for macOS
  • #BringBackTheHeadphoneJack
  • Get rid of app notarization
  • A monitor that doesn't cost over $1000
  • Throw a bone to the Linux community seriously Asahi had to build M Series GPU drivers from scratch

What everyone's saying about the myriad Siri improvements that are very many years overdue- let's give it some intelligence to understand different devices in your home.

Scenario A:
Me: "Siri, play some music on the HomePod" (there's only one HomePod here)

Siri: (replying from my pocket) "There's more than one device in this home. Which device would you like the music to play on?" 🤦‍♂️

Scenario B:
*HomePod is playing loud music*
Me: "Hey Siri, turn the volume down."

Siri: *silently adjusts the volume of my iPhone, which is resting on the table* 🤦‍♂️

My partner hates Apple products, and constantly mocks my retarded-Siri experiences.

Plenty of bugfixes across the board. Make iCloud sync work as it’s supposed to be.
Stop introducing new (utterly useless) features. Keep what’s working well.

My realistic list:
  • AirPods Max 2 that is at least vaguely near audiophile quality and supports lossless
  • A new Magic Mouse with awesome ergonomics
  • A Vision Pro that delivers on its promises
  • More gaming stuff, hopefully a focus on boosting GPU power with future Apple Silicon models.
The less realistic list:
  • Massive improvements to Safari. It's become the new Internet Explorer for web developers. Not to mention the worst bookmarks system in any browser maybe ever.
  • Big overhaul of Keychain, to bring it on par with password managers like 1Password and Bitwarden
  • Cheaper iPad Pro
  • ProMotion in all iPads and iPhones
  • 12 or 16GB minimum memory in new Macs
  • Increased minimum storage. 64GB should not exist for any device, and 256GB should not exist in any Mac.
  • Something exciting with iPhone 16 Pro series. Hopefully the end of the dynamic island, or a much smaller one.

I want to see the dismantling of the App Store and code signing, and not that much else.

Well, if they fixed branching HLS and Hybrid Log Gamma HDR on Apple TV that would be nice. Or made a decent snap system for MacOS. Or started moving away from Metal and adopting more mainstream approaches to shader compatibility. Or killed the 8GB RAM Mac entirely. Or fixed the last five years of UI regressions in MacOS (bring back density, kill iOS design paradigms). Or introduced a half decent snap function. Or finally killed Lightning for the Mac Mouse and keyboard. Or killed that horrible corner radius on the Mac external keyboard.

Okay, maybe there's a few things.

The biggest thing I think that Apple could do is release an iCloud feature --> where your personal devices that are connected to the internet provide distributed computing power for a small financial reward... so that all of the "idle" computing power in the wold can be used as server power easily just by switching it "on" in iCloud (where you could also configure e.g. a whitelist of internet connections it should use to connect to this so that it doesn't end up costing you data e.g. when roaming)

I'd love it if they did generative AI stuff --- what they did with FERRET was an excellent sign, but any contribution to the general empowerment of the entire world in terms of generative AI to empower people to be able to use AI to do things they had to do manually before would be awesome.

Personally, I'd love it if Apple revolutionised the way software development works --- and specifically to do with the deployment of server based infrastructure... I love AWS, but if Apple were to make a UX for deploying databases and containerised software I feel like they would do a far better job than Amazon in terms of the UX becuase they'd definitely integrate it with something like XCode whereas AWS have to build APIs and plugins for other IDE's... but I think Apple having XCode plus a Cloud deployment system would be an incredible move (especially if they worked to support technologies like Kotlin, C, Node.js and most especially Python as well as Swift) --- but I doubt they'll go in that direction despite the fact that often App developers will still be working with Cloud services from Microsoft, Amazon or Google as serverside compute services for their apps.... If Apple did move into this area I think it could be absolutely amazing but realise it would be a big risk.

Apple Car would be great, especially if they worked with governments to provide a public network of automated Apple Cars as a public transport service.

A keynote where they declared they were deciding to lead the world in fixing climate change (rather than just leading industry) where they said they were going to provide data, strategy, jobs and huge investment to help prevent it would be an epic thing for them to do but I think that's too out of the box even for Apple.

- More affordable RAM and storage updates on every Mac
- Mac Pro with interchangeable processor for future updates.
- Thunderbolt 5 in every Pro / Studio Mac
- Commercial alliances + put money on game studios + bring more games. In conclusion, make the Mac more game-friendly.
- Monitor with Pro Motion, without speakers and webcam (To lower the monitor price and keep it premium in what is important, the display)

- The return of Airport routers

- Improved minimum storage and memory for Macs (or more reasonable priced upgrade paths)

- iPhone 16 Pro mini (or 17, or 18.. I just want an update once in a while for small phone lovers.. with nicer camera system)

- A Mac Studio with user upgradable storage

- A fresh take on the Mac Pro, with the ability to upgrade it (board swaps, memory upgrades, etc)

- No more "Pro" labeled devices with reduced functionality (M3 MBP with one less port and only able to attach to one external display)

- LOWER PRICES
