You forgot one OP.

The hundred of SGS2 trolls that come here and make a post as to why its better than the iPhone.

And the users that bicker, whine and moan the whole time about using iTunes...I dont see what is so bad about it. I can manage my videos, music, apps, podcasts and a lot more all with one app. The app is constantly updated and improved and it works with the phone.

I think a bunch of users joined in anticipation of the SGS2 just so they can spam the forum with this nonsense crap. You like the phone so much go buy it and stop trying to feed everyone else your bullcrap.

Heres the door, dont let it hit you on your way out.

Hm...

Lets see.

Bigger screen does not mean better screen. Iphone screen is clearer than any Android I've seen.

I still maintain (and I should know of what I speak since I'm a smartphone admin at work) that the iPhone has the best corporate email integration of all of the activesync phones out there (iphone, android, palm pre, windows 7 phones).

You need to pay $40 for touchdown for Android and it still doesn't beat built-in email on iphone.

And, I can speak from experience most Androids (especially the Evo) drop off exchange servers more than any of the other activesync phones for no apparent reason. Especially exchange 2003 servers.

Anyway. There's obviously strengths and weaknesses to everything.

It's pretty sad to see people feel that they have to constantly defend their OS and phone choices. What does it really matter which system is "best", as long as you're happy with how it works FOR YOU?

You don't NEED to get touchdown (you can if you want but it isn't necessary). I used the Nexus One and the Evo on exchange 2003 and 2007 with full admin privileges on the devices and had no issues. Not sure why you needed touchdown but maybe that's why you had issues. That said the exchange features on the EVO are a little bit more robust than on the iphone. For example, on the EVO you can flag messages for follow up which my iphone cannot do.
Both the Android and the IOS platforms have much room for improvement as I find they both have things to improve on ie tasks syncing (reliability I have found to be fine overall on both). If I had to choose one one over the other I'd have to say I'd take exchange on Android over IOS because though it is not complete it is a little bit more complete than on IOS.

Source?

I haven't seen anything saying this...
It was a news point during Google I/O. I remember thinking it was odd that Android didn't have BT keyboard support yet (they're also adding support for mice). Unfortunately, I subscribe to far too many RSS feeds to remember which news site said it.

After SGII was released, it seems that the iPhone is actually killed this time.

People say the android is laggy, sg2 proves wrong
people say iphone has the best screen, sg2 prevails again BY A LONG SHOT
people say iphone has the best camera, sg2 gets 1080p recording
people say flash destroys the browser experience, sg2 dual core proves wrong
people say sg2 is ugly with plastic, yet very few americans have actually seen and or felt one. THIS WILL BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND A 5 FOOT FALL ONTO THE CARPET AND NOT SHATTER

the only thing that is arguementative right now is the appstore. But now android has NFS, asphalt, angry birds-3 (regular, season, rio), fatbooth, etc.

and btw, i have an iphone and always will. The only thing iphone has going for it is the status symbol. That truly is the only reason i still and always will have mine. Stop bashing android, its grown exponentially to where it is even with the iphone. The tablets for android suck, dont bring those up.

my iPhone 4 withstood a 6 foot fall onto concrete...

and...are you surprised that a phone that is around 8 months newer than the iPhone is better? because im not

its still pretty sad that it took a dual core monster to run android smoothly when iPhone has been doing it since the beginning with a fraction of the hardware power.

Android has come a long way, they will continue to improve and I hope they do too. Competition is better for us consumers, pushes companies to be more innovative and offer better products.

Oh, I don't mind discussion
Its the bashing, trashing and trolling that gets wearisome

Some of us just like to use our device more than we like to constantly feel like we have to defend our choices
I will agree this thread kind of smells like a bashing thread but sadly we can not get any type of discussion on different phones on these boards. If there is a chances for a good one I normally see iPhone users come and start trashing it preventing any hope or derailing it.
That or you get threads like this that just start off with a bad ton.

I say this and I am an Android fan. I personally think iOS is great for a media player but a pretty crappy phone OS. It is just to limited for a phone. Completely piss poor wanna be notification system along with a lack of real multi tasking.

I personally for my phone like it to have information at a glance. On my Atrix on main home screen I have the icons I use the most often, Time and weather/current temp. On one screen either direction I have widget for txt messages, email, Facebook and twitter. Email one just gives me a little of new emails and subject lines so I can know how important it is to read or what it deals with.
Go one more screen over I have a new feed or common contacts. Either way my phone is set up heavily for information at a glance. Have notification bar at the top.
Those areas that are important to me iOS fails big time at.

the only thing i miss from my Droid Incredible is the notification bar. It gets kinda annoying having apps pushed by iOS with a pop up when your in the middle of typing or reading something. On my android, i wasnt disturbed while writing/reading and everything was pushed to the notification bar, no close or reply button before you could continue.

I just got the iPhone 4 and still have my Incredible. My next phone is up in the air, I have no brand loyalty. (like after I am done school, im selling my macbook pro 17 and building my own PC)

Quality of apps

Just today I downloaded the NBA companion app.

Not to mention consistent OS updates the day they are released.

Easy consistent hardware and software upgrades. I always know how iOS works and it works the same on my new iPhone or iPad.

You make absolutely no sense.
Everything you stated was hardware related.

"THIS WILL BE ABLE TO WITHSTAND A 5 FOOT FALL ONTO THE CARPET AND NOT SHATTER"

I've heard a lot of people talk about how fragile iPhones are. I own an iPhone 4.

My own experience though? It's tough enough. I slipped on some stairs while texting once. I had wet shoes and was finishing a shift at work. Fell down 4 stairs, with my hand (iPhone in it) sliding along a steel rail. I weigh about 180lbs. There's a small chip along one side of the front, where the most direct contact to the rail was made... Though all things considered... I don't think it's that bad. I was expecting WAY more damage.

Definitely don't think it would break when dropping it on carpet though.

I was going to post a witty reply on why my Android is better than the iPhone, but my battery died while I was typing it, and I forgot what I was going to say.

Bummer.

Understand the comparison you're making. Of course IOS could run with low end hardware...it is an app drawer. I think both OS's have their ups and downs but I really don't think you can compare the two in the way you did. Android is designed to be more dynamic which requires more horsepower whereas IOS is a grid of static icons..it shouldn't take much horsepower for that. Not exactly an apples to apples (no pun intended lol) comparison.

Was over at android forums looking at reviews of the laterst verizon LTE phone. The Samsung Charge seems to be having the same problems that the thunderbolts has. LTE network issues where phone has a hard time switching between 3g and LTE and back. Laggy UI, poor battery life on LTE, dropped calls and so on. So yea, android does have a few things that the iphone cant do. :D

The Droid Charge is a low to mid level phone (more on the low end considering the specs are pretty much 1 yr old tech). It's an entry level phone. I think if you want to look at how well android can run, a better representative would be the Nexus S, G2X, Sensation, or Galaxy S2. Looking at a phone with old specs is like me saying that IOS on the Iphone 3g is slow (not exactly a good litmus test for an entire OS). I'm all for making both sides of an argument but let's at least be objective.

A single point for updates is a huge advantage foe apple

Needing to wait for google to update it's OS, release it and then hope your carrier/phone manufacturer willnupdate your phone then finally wait for that update

iTunes is another advantage. I've not found another app on android that so easily manages my music
