What I don't like about iOS 7 are the threads that are started titled "What don't you like about iOS7?".

Well there you go then. That takes care of it; the moderator can perhaps remove this thread for you. :p

I agree with the majority but my biggest pet peeve so far is not being able to use the finger print ID for opening messages/email from the lock screen after swiping on the particular message/email. Instead it goes to the pass code screen. I've never used a pass code and honestly don't need one. I use the finger ID mainly for the ease of unlocking instead of swiping.

Haven't read every post but has anyone mentioned the auto correct is really touchy now and corrects things that shouldn't be corrected, because its going off proper sentence structure and not a conversation? Haha

Here is what I dont like

1)The color scheme is awful - clear folders that blend into the background makes it hard to see.
2)Removing the .com from the keyboard
3)The blurry screen when not in use awful
4) Loading all old email - stop at 50 took me 30 mins to remove the 1200 emails that loaded
5) The FONTS are horrible
6)The photos displayed I hate the display by date
7) only 6 apps per folder - stupid

I am almost ready to remove IOS 7 and go back to 6.

Tom

Awesome thread. I'll have to read it more closely, as well as the one about what we like. I overall am enjoying iOS 7 on my 4S, but there are a few issues.

1. BATTERY LIFE. If I wasn't upgrading to the 5S soon, I'd be beside myself with how I can't go 2 hours without charging my phone anymore.

2. Safari Reader! You used to be able to adjust the size of the text (a pretty Times Roman style text, if I remember right) within the Safari Reader and it was wonderful for different situations, ambient lighting, and if my eyes were just plain tired to be able to make those letters bigger or smaller. Now the feature is "dumbed down" to one specific size (and super thin letters).

3. No more ".com" button. This one I'm less annoyed about since most of my sites are already in the preview screen (or whatever that is above the tabs).

4. A REQUEST: can we please have the option of "swipe typing"? I don't like Androids in general, but that is one feature that I really love and whenever I see a friend zigzag his finger to type an entire text message in about 5 seconds, I get a little envious.

You can still swipe to delete your messages, except the swipe can only be in one direction now. And yeah, it is slower than the old swiping :(

The new keyboard is hard to read and makes me double-take all the time. Also, the new Safari is awful! There needs to be an option to make the navigation buttons be permanently present.

as a lot of people have said, battery life on the new operating system is horrible. I don't play on my phone a ton but had to charge it three times yesterday. Pretty ridiculous!

What i dislike the most is that it truly feels like a beta OS. Just too many hiccups on my iPad3, and making my iPhone 4 slow. I don't have that many issues with the new design, but is is just too buggy. It slows down the performance and makes a previously perfect device feel sub-optimal. It should not have been released.
I wanted to downgrade to 6.1.3 (i think i'm entitled to do so, since i've paid for hard-and software) untill a better release of iOS7 is available, and i am quite p%#^*d off that i can't do that anymore now.
Nowhere beforehand was it announced that downgrading is not possible, nor that there would performance issues on iPhone4 (it just said that 'a new software update was available'...)
I feel mislead here. Apple should let their customers downgrade if they choose to do so.

Many "Form over function" issues:

(1) Too hard to delete all my email messages ! Deleting each thread one at a time is much time and finger taps. I would love to be able to SELECT ALL THREADS, and hit a DELETE ALL SELECTED button (like before).

(2) Why doesn't the App Store's Update Tab every clear? Will we be forced to look at all this history scrolling down the page? I would like it to disappear after I've read the update notes !!!!!!!!

2) It disappears after a little over a week or so, or after enough updates. Been using iOS 7 for 3 months and that's what I've noticed.

Closing down all apps running in the background used to be much faster as you could get those apps giggling and tap tap tap away ...

Now, closing apps is BEAUTIFUL ... but SLOW SLOW SLOW as you have to slide them one at a time ... (yes I know you could go finger gymnastics and close two or three at a time ... but that's still besides the point ).

Form over function ...

How about a "CLOSE ALL APPS FROM RUNNING IN THE BACKGROUND" button in the control center ?

Apple, are you listening ?

No problem.

Also, I'd send your feedback through Apple's official feedback channels ;) .

The new cover flow of music is cool on the iphone ... just turn your iphone in landscape mode when seeing a list of all your songs ... or albums ... or artist

But on the iPad ... this representation does not exist ...

why is that?

I'll definitely agree with not being able to delete texts by swiping, have to hit edit first now, takes longer.

Swipe right to left and you will see add'l options, one of which is Delete.

How do you scale your wallpaper on the new IPhone ios7? It won't let me. (I have Iphone 4s)

Seems to be on all iDevices, since you are using "old" wallpapers instead of the new size ones (you now need to add 200 pixels all around due to the added parallax function).

For iPhone 5, for example, instead of 640x1136, it now needs to be 1040x1536 (200+640+200 and 200+1136+200).

Not true. You could swipe it away on iOS 6 aswell by swiping from to right to left.

Well that certainly wasn't a documented feature! Wish I'd known about that one.

----------

It works in the list view for deleting all messages from a given person, but not for swiping on a particular message.

Another thing I don't like - the photo viewer app keeps on freezing when I try to swipe between photos.

May have already been mentioned, but press and hold an individual message, select more, and then you can choose individual messages to delete.

I'm totally confused by this whole iOS7 update. Visually, it's a step backwards in so many ways. I mean, why have high definition "retina" displays on all these devices and then have minimalist icons that show absolutely no detail? The detail in iOS6 really showed off the graphic capabilities of Apple so much better.

Sincerely,

Another loyal Apple user who wishes he could go back to iOS6.

P.S. The icons in OSX for calendar, Safari, etc somewhat mimic what iOS6 was but now they are totally different. Are they going to screw up OSX with this minimalist BS too? And if not, why have two platforms being so vastly different in look? I am VERY confused by this move from Apple.

I wish some of the animations were a bit quicker or could be reduced. And some of the icons look a little cheap, imho.

This may help: Settings>General>Accessibility>Turn on Reduce Motion

The alarm clock dial sucks. Hurts the eyes while it's spinning

I noticed that inputting a passcode and phone numbers lags a bit. Obviously this is something that should be easily fixed with an update.

Battery charge icon

Before it was easy to see at a glance if your phone was charging or not. Now the icon change when you plug in the usb charger is minimal. Check it out and see if you can see the difference without a magnifying glass.

I really hope the people who matter at apple reads this thread and other threads in the relevant forums about the ios7 issues and do something about it, from previous experience though I do not think these design issues will be fixed. Apple has always been VERY slow in changing design related issues.

iOS7 is very disappointing. Maybe it is time to check what the Android platform has to offer (I have never used one though).

Now that I had more time to use Safari on my iPad.....

I've learned to dislike the really small "x" used to close a Tab.

Jon...

Just swipe left. No need to press X

Cannot do that on an IPAD from what I tried or have been told to close a webpage. Just on Iphone or Touch.

Just tried it......does not work on the iPad since Safari on the iPad is basically the same format as it is on OSX.

Thanks for the suggestion though!

On a positive note..... You can rearrange the tabs by dragging them left or right which can be handy when you have multiple tabs open.

Jon...

iOS 7 UI is a DISASTER! WTH is Apple Thinking?!

The iOS 7 UI is a disaster! What is Apple thinking?

-- the white space, no contrast, no definition between UI elements
-- buttons turned into just text, wtf?!
-- the folders
-- the list selectors look like the credits on Star Wars - but way worse!
-- the apple apps suck like hell - all white
-- etc.
