Moving icons

You guys may already know this, but I started thinking I was loosing it. The icons move if you wiggle your phone around. No joke. Check it out. Made me dizzy, but I managed to find a way to turn it off in the settings (General/accessibility/reduce motion). Maybe this functionality can be put to good use somewhere, but not on my icons..

I think it's a good starting point. It needs to be smoother like iOS 6 and the colors pierce my eyes more than I would like, especially at night.

My biggest issue with the iOS 7 design is the visual experience on black (space gray) phones; it's hideous. This was so much of an issue for me that I felt forced to switch to white white/silver version because of this issue. Clearly Apple felt this way because most of their advertising with iOS 7 features the white iPhone. Fortunately, the experience isn't as dreadful on the black iPad mini's; however, I'll probably switch to white once they realize "the new" iPad mini.

Most of my other complains have been mentioned by other users:

2. Calendar - FAIL (and downgrade from iOS 6)
3. Reminders on iOS7 for iphone - FAIL (and downgrade from iOS 6)
4. 3 x 3 folders - FAIL (and downgrade from iOS 6)
5. Email - still too simple

All that said, I'll get over it and continue to pump too much money into the Apple machine. 10-15 years ago, I would have never owning Apple/Mac products :D

Keyboard annoyance

Just found another annoyance that makes it harder and less effective to use the phone.

The shift button on the keyboard used to turn blue when it was in the Capital state (after single or double click). This made it quick and easy to use capitalization when writing messages on the go. Now the blue has been removed and the shift button is only grey just like the other buttons irrespective of state. This makes it a lot harder to use.

Whoever designed these changes seem to have no clue that phones are used in busy environments on the go. If they did any testing on the visual interface design it seems like it was done by someone with perfect vision behind a desk in a cubicle.

The music app is a mess I will be downgrading tonight.
I walk every night and listen to music on my iPhone. I used to select an artist then play all the songs by that artist which used to play them alphabetically so I could easily skip songs with my headphone controls to the songs I liked most.
Now all I get is shuffle all songs by an artist its a complete mess.

What device do you have? The only reason I ask is because unless you have an iPhone 4 or earlier, you cannot downgrade. And even then, you need SHSH blobs to do so.

The shift arrow is light grey (not filled in) when it's not typing capital letters, and it is dark grey (filled in) when in caps mode. The same as before, just dark grey, not blue.

- No shadows (iOS went overboard with them, but they weren't just for aesthetics. They assisted in reading text on the home screen and gave a visual cue as to which elements were interactive)
- Icons that blend into the background (again related to shadows)
- Terrible dock that ruins backgrounds
- No at-a-glance feature in Calendar or Notification Centre (MASSIVE step backwards)
- Overly thin texts and icons
- Poor design in Calendar, Reminders and Mail.
- Messy, uncoordinated Music and Contacts App. Eg. The use of cards in iOS 6 Contacts instantly drew the eye to relevant information. iOS 7's 'simplistic' approach gives an overwhelming sense of information, with text splattered about with no structure.

iOS is now sterile and contains no character. Certainly not a quality product.

I think this was mentioned earlier but it's starting to bother me....a lot.

The delay when entering the pass code on the lock screen is to long (and to bright) which makes it easier for someone to see what you enter.

I'm assuming this has something to do with the animations ???

snooze alarm no longer works

my iphone is required to be password protected. i use the phone as my alarm clock. Now when the alarm goes off the "snooze" option appears but cannot be selected until i slide the screen to enter the password, which turns off the alarm. I would like a snooze option that can be selected,(I know, crazy!) and not just taunt me until i turn off the alarm.

----------

i use the Step pedometer app that syncs with my itunes. i built a playlist for this function. Since the "upgrade" I now have to select every tune from the playlist individually. Previously I could select "All songs." How does that even happen?

You can tap snooze - you don't have to slide.

I use a passcode, and can snooze just fine, every morning. :D

Safari not having user agents.

VPN not staying connected when you put the phone to sleep.

Those are my two pet-peeves.

I "upgraded" to ios 7 today. I'm not as obsessed with my phone as most people seem to be, and expected there would be a period of adjustment and getting used to it. But the most glaring and annoying thing for me was the overall look of everything. No contrasts, everything white and bright. Keyboard, dial pad, contacts list, even the notepad thing.

If this is the new chic and hip thing, I find it annoying. But then I find most chic and hip things more annoying than functionally usable. Apple seems to be more worried about playing catch-up rather than setting the pace these days.

Animations could be a tad faster, besides that i like it on the phone.
its a different story on iPad. its not optimized at all. im surprised apple released it on iPad in its current state.

The only thing I REALLY hate is that the music controls are fixed on the lock screen when music is playing. It's impossible to see the tiny little clock at the top of the screen while I'm out running unless I stop and bring the screen right up to my face - I used to be able to glance at it without breaking pace.

Control Centre has also been a letdown for me on my iPhone (but is excellent on my iPad). There are too many buttons and most are irrelevant to me. I also dislike the fact that I can't get to my music controls while typing.

I generally like the white theme, but there are some places where they really need to rethink it. Anything with substantial blocks of blank background should have retained a darker theme (ie the photos app, which is painful on an iPad).

And I want the am/pm and carrier tags at the top of the screen to be in caps - the OCD in me just hates the fact that everything else along the top lines up nicely except the text (to the point that I find it rather distracting).

For your first point, if you tap the home button once on the lock screen while music is playing, it will take away the controls and show the clock. This behavior doesn't stick though, if you lock the screen and unlock again, but I wish it did. Either way, the big clock is always just a click of the home button away!

And for me, the AM/PM is in caps along the status bar..it's not for you? Maybe it's region-specific? (though not sure why that would be)

am I the only one here who thinks that swiping-up should bring the app switching screen and double clicking the home button should bring up the quick settings preference? We are far more likely to switch between apps than adjust the settings, yet the quick settings is easier accessed than app switching. They can have side scrolling of the apps at the bottom where the Flashlight, Timer, calculator and camera are like it used to be in iOS 6.

The spotlight should be implemented IN the notification center, not sure why does it have its own gesture to bring it up. Should be accessed from all apps. It will be a lot easier than hitting the home button, then bringing the spotlight search by swiping down.

The music player is horrible, the way the audiobooks work is just stupid. It should have a totally new audio player(music app). All controls should be availible on the lock screen, and there should be a "skip", "Fast Forward", and "15/5 second forward-backwards" buttons. Same to be said about the iTunesU and Podcast app.

This is not an issue with iOS7 , but the fact that old apps still work with iOS7 in their older GUI makes the iOS7 jump feel a lot less significant. You still see the old keyboard and old design. Kind of feels like running OS 9 apps in OS X when it was released

I agree that it would be nice if Apple allowed at least two styles to accommodate different preferences, such as a lighter style and a darker style, while maintaining the new design

I don't like that there is no distribution lists for messages, no quick reply and there is noway to kill all open apps.

I also dont like that you can't download additional wallpapers and that they removed panoramic wallpapers.

Yes, I agree that the app switching and control center would be more convenient for me if switched around.

Also to allow customization of the control center for things we use most. For example, I rarely if never use airplane mode and bluetooth, so I would like to put other settings in its place.

1) folders
2) disappearing bottom navigation bar in safari
3) the absence of a clock on lock screen while on a call with headphones
4) that require passcode is locked to "immediately" when using touchid. (I'm thinking about disabling security because I hate this so much

Number 2 and 4 are starting to piss me off.

Number 2 and 4 are starting to piss me off.

May I ask why you like the bottom navigation bar in Safari to be constant? Is it mainly for navigating forward and back?

The reason I say this, is because one of my favorite new features of IOS 7 is the ability to swipe left and right to go back and forward.

Only thing I like about iOS 7 is Control Center. Everything else needs to go back to the drawing board. The eyestrain alone the new OS causes makes me not want to use it for anything. Inverted colors shouldn't be the solution to fix this POS operating system. Don't get me started on the Music app. It's the worst part of the OS. Even the controls on the lock screen are inconsistent. Sometimes they disappear and you have to swipe up and use CC for the controls. When they do appear on the lock screen you have to be super precise for the controls otherwise you end up just unlocking your phone. Songs and whole albums are duplicated, deleting them does no good as it just shows that it's in the cloud even though you have the damn album downloaded to your phone. I could except this crap OS from any other company. But as for the Apple "standard" it's the worst product they have ever launched, iOS 6 maps was better than this entire OS!

:apple: Bring Forstall back please! Leave Jony in the lab sculpting hardware.
