I was really hoping that when setting the alarm clock, the set time would be displayed at the top of the home screen, instead of just an alarm clock icon.

1) folders
2) disappearing bottom navigation bar in safari
3) the absence of a clock on lock screen while on a call with headphones
4) that require passcode is locked to "immediately" when using touchid. (I'm thinking about disabling security because I hate this so much

Number 2 and 4 are starting to piss me off.

I agree with disliking the disappearing bottom navigation bar in safari. I also dislike tapping the top bar twice to jump to the top of the screen.

I actually like the passcode being required immediately with Touch ID. I am absolutely loving how quick Touch ID is. It is amazing that it can measure, calculate and compare your finger to 1 of the 5 stored fingerprints. I still don't get how it works in pitch black environments though. Does the screen lighting assist it? Seems too fast for that to happen...

The animations were cool at first but now im kinda sick of them. Its like the phone makes a whole big deal out of me going into a folder and opening an app and vice versa. Too much flair.

+1

I know, it's like we're playing a video game everytime we unlock the phone or open or close an app

Looks cool the first 2 minutes but completely gimmicky, like a toy

In addition, it does give some people who are motion-sensitive (like me) a genuine sick feeling of nausea and headaches, so I'm really hoping for an option to disable soon

Would like more colour please, eg Notes has lost its distinctive yellow colour and is now a bland white like everything else.

It's amazing to think there is a team of designers at Apple, each paid a 6 figure salary, who "designed" the new Notes app :D

Think the thing i don't like most is that its much harder to edit the safari address bar now which i tend to do a lot when searching. Not sure ifs smaller or what but it takes that bit longer to get the "cursor" in the right place

This must have been the conversation when they sat around the table...

"Hey, lets make everything bland and colourless, our customers will love it".

Anyone know how to add the lines back on the page?

I agree. I hate this. (I'm not a fan of A LOT of new things on iOS 7)

I'm sure there were many dissenters who were told that they could join Scott on the way out if they had a problem with it. The whole thing reeks of an out of control ego allowed too much power after Steve wasn't there anymore. Ive is a brilliant hardware designer, but ...a hardware designer. Steve kept him where he belonged. Cook hasn't. Just pray Ive doesn't get his mitts on OSx.

Dynamic font size. What moron that that was a good idea?

If I set the text size to where I like it for the message app it is too small to use the map app.

If I set it to where I like it in the map app it's too large for the message app.

Talk about not thought out...btw I'm in tapatalk so it don't know the resolution of those pics but map app is very difficult to read on an iPhone screen and nearly impossible as a passenger in a vehicle.

Ok then I don't like the inability to properly copy text in an emailed PDF file. I used to be able to long press, slide the highlighted box bigger and copy phone numbers and addresses out of pdf's I was emailed. This is now a company wide issue for myself and 30 or so other employees.

Then I have the random lock screen glitch that isn't an incredibly big deal. The circles around the password keypad disappear and I get not feedback making it difficult to unlock the phone though not impossible.

Couple apps I use for work haven't been updated which isn't Apples fault but I still consider an iOS 7 issue to an extent.

Maybe personal preference but I'm not enjoying the new calendar app. I feel much less organized using it.

Then superficial things. Animations and Easter theme make my phone feel like a toy not a tool. I'm happy children appreciate the iPhone and it's cool to have but that's just a little too childish at least for me.

There are things I do like about it though. Control center I find very handy. I like the new camera and camera roll apps. I like the multitasking with app preview and swipe to close. So it's not all bad!

But for the most part, functionality wise it's only harming my work day productivity. It might be good for gaming and social networking and those are important things but not only does it look less professional it's literally less productive (for me).

Mileage will vary obviously and things will be improved hopefully with later updates.

May I ask why you like the bottom navigation bar in Safari to be constant? Is it mainly for navigating forward and back?

The reason I say this, is because one of my favorite new features of IOS 7 is the ability to swipe left and right to go back and forward.

At first I didn't like it because I didn't know you could swipe left/right but the reason i'm frustrated with it still is because I check 4 - 5 websites 20+ times a day via bookmarks and its annoying, imo, to have to scroll up in order for the bookmark/page buttons to be pressed.

There's no reason it should be locked to immediate though. Been using iPhones since the 3G and i've never used a passcode so the 1-2 second delay is super annoying, imo. I'd like to set it to 15mins; yes I know this would mean i'm less secure, but it's better than no security.

Safari - bottom navigation bar

You can get the bottom navigation bar on Safari to show by just tapping the bottom of the screen - no need to scroll all the way back up to the top of the page.

-animation speeds
-how large notifications are on the lockscreen and notification center
-scroll speed of multitasking window (too fast, need to tap several times to get to the app I want)
-no 5 day weather in notification center

I can just about tolerate the notes app, I preferred the old one but hey. The SMS app has a horrid colour scheme though and aside from looking childish, I find that the white on green text over a white background really makes my eyes sore. Yeah the home screen icons are flat and boring too but like the notes app, I can live with them. Just change the SMS colours please, asap. Oh and sort the calendar app.

I think that's a pretty good guess. To me it relates to the question of whether Ive should have become the sole designer in Apple's management in the first place, notwithstanding his skills. This reliance on one designer alone may actually lead to bias, especially if that person is not reigned in from time to time. Jobs and Forstall were no designers, but they were competent in judging what worked and what did not and whether the average user would like it. At the end of the day, it was Jobs who had to be satisfied and who was Apple's 'average user' in charge. Cook does not have that competence. Ive does what he always did, he designed things by relying on his skill, rather than thinking of what works for the average user. I share your worries that we may get to see some pretty big changes in OS X too. I don't see any reason why he would not, he's in charge of design now, including OS X.

Before Steve went he basically gave Ives free reign and made him untouchable. I guess Steve trusted his vision more than anyone else's and thought he was the safest pair of hands.

I don't like the new keyboard. I know everybody now hates the skeumorphic design, but on the old keyboard the shadows, glows and bevels made the keys pop out better. Much easier on the eyes to me.

Image

You probably know this by now, but if not, go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Accessibility Shortcut>Invert Colors. Tap to check it. Now, whenever your keyboard appears, tap the home button 3 times and you'll get black keys with white letters that are easier to see and type on. When finished, tap the home button 3 times to reurn to normal colors. This can be used in any app, even Safari, if your eyes start hurting from the blinding white that Ives seems to think works.

Scott Forstall must be laughing his @*# off.

That the music app loses the pink alphabet to the right of the screen if you turn off. (Under Artist)

"Show all music" in settings/Music.

********.

Also the album sorting, scrolling down with artist that has multiple albums is a bit annoying as oppose to choosing specific album.

People who have a large library on iphone will understand.

The notification center sometimes give me past temperatures and weather conditions. For instance, if I check in the evening it might say: "Cloudy currently. It's 65 degrees. The high temperature today WAS 72 degrees. Say what?

Plus, the weather isn't current. It takes a while to refresh. I guess I'll stick to the Weather Channel app which is more informational, reliable, accurate and precise than Apple's offerings under iOS 7.

What DON'T you like about iOS 7?

I do not like its so much because Some of the things in IOS 7 are ok, but there are some drawbacks also like:

a) Huge amount of white space: when useful information could be inserted, so a sense that minimalism is a religion here rather than a tool for communicating well, on top of that the sense that there are no options left as all three mobile platforms are now flat, and finally the drive towards more white space and less clutter makes it difficult to see which parts of a screen are meant to be tapped for some kind of link or execution.

b) The icons that were unveiled feel rushed. Lots of them look like the very first sketch was thrown right into the keynote.

Besides the massively overhauled design and Control Center, there are few ground-breaking new features. The flat design concept favors space over information so you'll generally need to do more scrolling to get the info you need. Some new features aren't available for iPhone 4 and 4S users.

animation speeds
scroll speed of multitasking window is too fast
no 5 day weather in notification center
no shortcut for twitter and facebook in the notification center
too much white

For your first point, if you tap the home button once on the lock screen while music is playing, it will take away the controls and show the clock. This behavior doesn't stick though, if you lock the screen and unlock again, but I wish it did. Either way, the big clock is always just a click of the home button away!

And for me, the AM/PM is in caps along the status bar..it's not for you? Maybe it's region-specific? (though not sure why that would be)

Ah, thank you for the tip! I still wish it was around the other way though - click for controls.

I was surprised to see lower case am/pm - all the screenshots I've seen have had it in caps and look far better IMO.

I hate that when I go to press "define" a word nothing comes up anymore...can someone pleassssse help with this????

Not sure if you got your answer yet, but after you press "define," within the empty window that appears tap on "more" on the bottom left. A list of dictionaries appears. Select to download.

Crazy....what was Apple thinking and who tested this before release?

This is something that Apple needs to know since having their products used in a business environment increases sales. And they do not want to loose that market share ($$$).

If people that rely on their phones as business tools start sending 'certified' letters to the top people at Apple to inform them how the update has effected productivity in business, Apple will have a hard time ignoring it.

The reason I suggest a letter is it's more personal, and has a greater impact, than email does. And sending it 'Certified' mail requires someone to sign for it.

Just a thought,

Jon...
