That it's 90% the same as iOS 6.1, really. I keep hoping for a big revolution, but I suppose that isn't going to happen. Why change the winning formula, right?

while scrolling, you can easily and accidentally click on the large circle to the right of a reminder without knowing it, accidentally completing that reminder for good. This is VERY dangerous, i.e. a reminder to make a payment, or an important work reminder. After months of beta testing, no one at Apple noticed these things?

Then just tap it again to un-check it?

-Phone app, contacts - why in the world did they eliminate some letters of the alphabet on the right? Plus, they're not as visible and more difficult to tap without opening up a contact's info. Some are missing 2 letters, some one. So if I want a contact starting with "B" it'll get me "close" maybe to the "Cs'" and I have to scroll up. Not very precise, a time-waster and shoddy design.
Mine says ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVQXYZ# to the side. Not sure what's wrong with yours.

- Reminders. Oh please don't make this awful app the finished product. Editing info is not intuitive and a pain. Sometimes the reminders are truncated, where you only see the bottom or top half of them and need to scroll to see the entire reminder.

I don't use reminders so I haven't a comment.

-Phone app keypad. What clown decided to put the "x" to backspace and delete a wrong number tap by putting a tiny "x" on the upper right corner of the screen, the most difficult and awkward part to reach with your thumb? I'm sure Ive and company dial and use this feature. They see nothing wrong with this? Scary.
Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

The new alarm clock setting dials are horrible instead of the nice and clear chunky dials we had we now have small faint numbers with a lot of "air" around them doing nothing but blinding you with a white background.
I hope this gets changed ASAP.

bobbba Ive?

The single most infuriating "feature" of IOS7 is the way it deals with photo's.

I now have to disable all syncing in itunes which leaves me with camera roll and of course photo stream.

If I leave the sync options as they were under 6, everything worked fine. Now, you can't delete panoramas from the phone, and the way it syncs seems to be random, following no pattern, even though I've re set the darn thing a good 5 times now.

The only workaround is to leave the sync photo option in itunes unchecked...Then drag your photo's into Aperture or a foldr on your Mac. This is really poor Apple.

The animations are fine, I really dont get all the fuss about it... i mean , those few miliseconds are a deal breaker for so many people? Really?

The icons however are ugly ugly ugly... safari, music just to name a few, make the phone look like a toy rather than a premium product... I seriously hate them.

And then for many others the icons don't matter since they are just plain look of something and have absolutely no effect on any functionality. Animations on the other hand do have some effect on functionality/usability for some people, and while that's not the case for everyone, for those that do experience some issues with the animations (ranging from just some annoyance to actual physiological issues), it's definitely more of an issue than simple looks of icons.

What I'm saying is that it's different for everyone. And while there are some really pointless things to be annoyed by, it doesn't change the fact that you might be annoyed by them. In your case it's the icons, which in many people's eyes matter less than pretty much anything else there, and especially something like animations. But to you and various others the opposite is the case. There's really no right or wrong, and not everyone will understand why others might have issues with something, but it doesn't diminish those issues for those people.

Search = Summary/Agenda View in Calendar

7) Calendar app: the month view is a step back and too simplistic that it's not useful. I like to see a summary of what I have on that day. If I have a dentist appt, I have to click on a day and then scroll around up and down to hunt for the time. They should have an option for summary view or hour-by-hour view.

I just came across this so hopefully this will help someone. The calendar app still has a summary view but it's only accessible by clicking the magnifying glass search icon. Voila! But not intuitive at all.

May I also add that trying to go multiple years ahead or back even in month view is painful!

Flyonawall, I have tried that magnifying glass -- however, it shows me a list and summary of all my events for the entire year.

For me, if I have a dot on a calendar day, I want to click on it and easily see only the events scheduled for that day.

Normally I wouldnt mind it at all but for some odd reason the zooming causing me to feel dizziness, believe me I wish I was making it up but it actually prevents me from using it so I downgraded before the cut off. Hopefully they speed it up or allow it to be disabled in some way for those that dont like it/are effected. I like the design and features just wish I could use it. Super rare because its never happened on anything else.

I get were you are coming from, both of you and I agree that apple should provide a means to disable the animations for all users who either feel sick using the software or are annoyed but those "delays".

What i wouldnt want is for apple to remove these animations entirely for all users. I like the animations, they look cool and as i said, personnally, they dont affect how fast I can do things with the phone. The difference is negligible.

But there should be an option for anyone else. I agree , why wouldnt I?

I don't like the new keyboard. I know everybody now hates the skeumorphic design, but on the old keyboard the shadows, glows and bevels made the keys pop out better. Much easier on the eyes to me.

Image

The skeumorphic design is brilliant. The new thing sucks.

My wife had problems with her iPhone 4S and had to restore it and that's how she accidentally got lumbered with this abomination iOS7. Now her battery life has gone to hell.

I'm a very long term Mac computer user, but am still using an ancient old Nokia phone. Was going to finally get myself an iPhone before the end of the year, but not now, with this ridiculous downgrade the skeumorphic icons etc....

Then just tap it again to un-check it?

Have you actually tried this before commenting? If you did, you'll see that checking it makes it disappear, never to see it again in Notification Center. Why would I complain about easily losing important reminders if it didn't disappear and simply showed a check mark?

Not sure if iPhone 5s are different, but I have a 4s and it shows A•D•F•I•K•N•P•S•U•X•Z#. If that's the case, way to go Apple! I mean it's not like 4s owners didn't have all the letters - and BIGGER fonts, no less, in all previous versions.

I don't use reminders so I haven't a comment.
I see

Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Because it doesn't bother you doesn't mean that it isn't placed in the least optimal, most awkward position on the screen.

the 1st thing that I find missing from when I had iOS 6 is a proper preview in calendar.

Yeah, the calendar functionality has been greatly reduced because of this. I really hope they update it. It was one of the first "wtf" moments I had when exploring iOS 7

What don't I like? Pretty much everything with two exceptions: I like the new short cut screen to turn on and off wifi and bt. And I like that it's a little easier now to mark many messages as read.

Everything else is either meh or just bad. I don't like the design but but I'm mostly disappointed about a number of bugs that I have. This shouldn't happen - especially not when you are essentially given no alternative and have to "upgrade" unless you want to lose the space that the forced downloaded file eats up. And I hate that there is no going back. What harm would it do to leave iOS6 as an option at least while they're still working on fixing things.

Low FPS animations, mostly in screen rotation with keyboard up...Also, keyboard still sucks.

1. Control Center animation is too slow. The Safari share shade is lightning compared to CC. To make matters worse I have to wait for animations to complete until touch is recognize. See multi tasking.
2. Maps is still stupid. Searching for "UPS vernon st" returns nothing while "UPS south vernon st" finds the POI. This has been a problem since release and hasn't gotten better.
3. Light traffic displayed in Maps uses faint red dots. I don't think I have to explain why this is wrong.
4. Reporting POI mistakes is a waste of time. I've tried reporting mistakes, but a year later Maps still tells me that there is a post office near by. That was closed down years ago.
5. Music doesn't group songs under Artist->album->songs anymore. The fools that changed this behavior didn't think about artists that have many multiple albums. There is a thread here discussing this regression.

I won't harp on letting users set default apps. I wouldn't complain if the default apps were really good.

What DON'T you like about iOS 7?

Is it just me, or is the translucency effect not applied uniforming across the OS?

On my 5s (where the effect should be the clearest), the icons behind the notifications shade look like paint smudges.

On the ipad3, it actually appears nicer, because the notifications bar is this cool-looking transluscent black, and I can actually make out the icons on the home screen behind it.

Go figure.

The difference is quite stark, IMO.

iCloud tabs - iPhone

 #%@#%@

I just realized there are no iCloud Tabs in Safari on my iPhone 4S.

On the iPad the iCloud icon it there but I can't find it on the iPhone. The only thing I can find on the iPhone is the bookmarks and reading list to select from.

Is it really missing? I use that feature when I want to continue browsing a site that I was looking at on my desktop.

Someone please tell me it's just hidden someplace!

I even looked in settings and could not find a switch for it.

Jon...

It's still there, just moved. Open the tabs view (bottom right button) and scroll down past the last open tab. Your iCloud tabs should be there. I think this actually is a more sensible place to put them. But, like many other changes made in iOS 7, it would have been nice if the user were given a head up.
