life is short. If you can afford it, then buy the latest and the greatest. If not, then stick to your current phone until it stops working.
There were times that I thought the remotes were actually on a stage using the wrap around screen like Mandalorian.I do kind of find it ironic that their presentations now feel pretty artificial and cheap with that overprocessed HDR-look.
You have to tell me how did you achieve this feat? I game on my 13 Pro, watch YouTube, use it as GPS, social media....etc and I am at 81% after 3 years and 788 cycles.
Could it be some are using MagSafe and some hardwired charging?Apparently I am not alone. I looked this issue up and tons of people has the same battery health from the 15 Pro Max.
I have a 14 Pro that I charge almost exclusively via MagSafe and it is still at 96% battery health.Could it be some are using MagSafe and some hardwired charging?
I always find these kind of arguments funny. It’s not ridiculous to finance something that’s 0% interest like carriers typically are, on top of the fact that you can often get the phone cheaper through them. If you’re someone who uses the top tier plans anyways it is sometimes better to finance that buy it outright.Another year, another pile of ridiculous, pointless posts from people pointing out the small incremental differences between the 15 and 16, and pontificating about how it's not worth upgrading.
The only people who upgrade their phones every 12-24 months are stupid or rich and stupid. Nobody else does.
Still rocking my 12 Pro Max that I bought in December 2022 - it was 2 years old then, I paid $500 for it and it's every bit as good as any 14, 15 or 16 Pro Max.
Oh, and if you're paying monthly for your phone through your carrier, that's a whole 'nother level of ridiculousness.
Perhaps there are a tiny fraction of offers out there where you actually save money, but if you actually care about your money you're buying a 2nd hand 1-2 year old iPhone for cash and paying $25 a month for your service.
But I guess some people lease cars too.
I have a 14 Pro that I charge almost exclusively via MagSafe and it is still at 96% battery health.
My 15 pro max had 89% and 332 cycles, always charged with MagSafe.Just checked my 15 pro that charges nightly with MagSafe and on the weekends I use a cable. 91%, 367 cycles.
ive only upgraded to the 16PM from the 15PM because my carrier gives crazy good trade in deals. I wouldn't have upgraded without it
Things I appreciate about the upgrade:
* Better battery life. It really is a good chunk better. Kinda reminds me of the beast 13PM battery
* better thermal management. It runs really cool
* photographic styles. Gold with -50 tone and +20 color is such a great look. Love how my photos come out. Kinda feel it could be an update to older phones but what do I know. Maybe there something special on the new ISP that can do these new photographic styles that older phones dont have.
Things I either dont mind or dislike
* Camera control is useless. Position sucks in either orientation. Will probably change it to that Apple intelligence Look Up feature coming out in a few months
* 6.9in screen size. Really preferred my 6.7in 15PM. the 15 was really the perfect size for me and find the 16PM a bit hard to reach the control center. Still not enough of a size jump that has me thinking about downsizing to a 6.3in. 6.3in too small
* 48MP Ultrawide is my biggest disappointment. When Apple came out with the 48MP Main camera in the 14PM they increased the size of the sensor by like 70%. This 48MP ultrawide on the 16PM? ZERO increase in sensor size. I was really hoping for better pictures and videos in low light smh. Seems like it's actually a downgrade in low light due to the increase in pixels (even with pixel binning) plus has a weird vignetting effect.
* Desert Titanium is really not what I excepted. I have warmed up to the color after my first impression but it's fine. If Sierra Blue was a 10/10, Natural Titanium 8.5/10, Desert is a 7/10. Hopefully next year they bring a blue as stunning as 13PM Sierra Blue.
Overall im happy with the upgrade
Good little write up. I still cannot get over the camera button. It is seriously the most useless unintuitive thing Apple has added to an iPhone.
I use MagSafe almost every time, since they introduced it.Could it be some are using MagSafe and some hardwired charging?
