• Much better support for video. They need a whole new system that's thought out better. I shouldn't have to/have to know to install flip4Mac as well as Perian, and then have to manage those updates separately through each plug-in.

•*Work with adobe to make Flash on OS X not suck.

•*Better standardized system for installing apps.

Being that MS is the reason for us needing Flip4Mac and Perian that may not be something we can count on as a fix from Apple.

Exactly what problems do you have with Flash in OS X? It always works perfectly for me. Are you doing special things with Flash? I hear complaints on the Windows side about Flash as well.

Emphasis on option. I like the way it's separated, myself. But it would be nice to see more options. And a gap placer so we can divide our apps into sections, say, a "fun" section, "work" section, "hobby section", etc.

you can add spacers to the dock in 10.5. just read about it in macworld:

Add Spacers to the Dock

The make your Dock more orderly, you might want to separate icons into groups. To add a space between applications in the applications area of the Dock, launch Terminal and enter this:

defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add '{tile-data={}; tile-type="spacer-tile";}'

To add a space between documents on the right side of the Dock, type this:

defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{tile-data={}; tile-type="spacer-tile";}'

To see the changes you've wrought, type killall Dock in the command line. If you want to get rid of a space you've added, just drag it off the Dock.

and here's another thing i saw on the same page:

Add a Recent-Items Stack

Another feature that Apple has included in Leopard but hasn't made easily available is a recent-items stack. To get it, type the following in Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-others -array-add '{ "tile-data" = { "list-type" = 1; }; "tile-type" = "recents-tile"; }'

Then press return and type killall Dock.

Choose the kinds of items that appear in this stack by contol-clicking on it and selecting applications, documents, servers, volumes, or items (namely, entries in the Places section of your Finder sidebar).

Flash for OSX takes up way too many resources, often pushing fans to full blast, even on YouTube.

The "illuminous" black-based OS X theme has already been implemented! Just click Cmd + Option + Ctrl + 8. ;)

In other news, I haven't had any problems with flash. Youtube hardly raises my macbook 1º

strange, my macbook will be running nicely at 52 degress celsius... then I go onto youtube (or any flash site for that matter)

and my fans will start roaring, and i'll be running 60+ degress celsius... heck sometimes I'll see myself at 70 degrees (whihc can get scary)...

does anyone mind telling me what the ehat capacity of a core 2 duo macbook is anyways?

Well I do that back that it doesn't raise my temp a single degree. I'm on YouTube right now, but I only got upped from 41º C to 45/46º C. I'm using Safari. I'm not sure what it is if flash is giving you that much trouble  Maybe my MacBook is special

C2Ds can easily go into the mid-80s under full load. I think they are rated for 100C.

if you could add anything to the next big cat from apple what would it be????

Personally i love leopard and the new look dock and trans menu bar and menus but it would be nice to give everyone the choose of this, yes i know there are choices in leopard but not for the the menus

also i would love to be able to postition icon text to the left of icons.

perhaps maybe a change of appearance for windows, not just colours darkened but something fresh.

what would you like?

I'm going to download QD and have a go at the RI feature.

All right. Tried it, didn't work. Far too many bugs in the interface (not to mention with applications). Looks like Windows is still the only option for res. independence. Since I have no plans to install XP at this point in time, I'll continue to make do with Tiger. I can say with certainty that if Leopard actually caught up to XP in DPI scaling, I'd switch to it tomorrow.

Your macbook must certainly be special, or my macbook has some sort of issue somewhere... uh-oh this is kinda scaring me, cause its a refurbished macbook...
ahh well i still got until November before my warranty is up... so I shouldnt worry to much and i can always buy applecare.

Yeah if I'm in an air-conditioned room I can get those temperatures. Right now I'm seeing 51 degrees.

Another easy way to do this as well as doing many different things is to download Docker. http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/26343/docker

A grounds-up, sandbox GUI.

Colour sliders, transparency sliders, drop shadow weights, gradients, transparency options, window edge styles, changeable resize corners, all set around a couple of templates with one standard UI default to fall back to.

And yes, I know this would be very hard to do right, and would almost definitely lead to horrible creations.

i'd love to see ichat get a decent update adding msn contacts support, i think ichat is nice but having the ability to include msn contacts will save me having to use msn messenger
I would even give up Adium! And, my absolute dream, if iChat had Skype support, I would finally have one application for all my IM needs.

might be nice to have a Trash Bin embedded into the left hand side of Finder rather than having to drag down to the dock.
