iTunes path

I think Vista has one nice feature, and that's the clickable path. Before the Apple fans (such as myself) go nuts, Apple already does this in one app - iTunes. It's just convenient, and I'd like to see it implemented OS-wide. :)

+1 to that...it would be a nice addition

1. Front Row on an external monitor.
2. System wide Blue Ray support, OS and iLife apps
3. some sort of WINE. At the moment I don't run any Windows apps. But if I did need to run the occasional windows app I don't want to have to pay for Parallels, or Fusion or a Windows license to do it. Seems like a lot of money to spend for the occasional app.
4. Built in uninstaller. So we don't have to buy 3rd party apps like App Zapper, etc. An app uninstaller should be part of every OS.
5. Faster CD/DVD mounting. Is it just me or does it take forever for a DVD to show up on the desktop?
6. Quicklook should be able to see into dmgs and zips, etc without the help of plugins.

We already have it in the Finder. You can normally Command-click on the proxy icon in the menu bar to see a documents' path, if that's what you mean.

i've got an itunes suggestion, you should be able to punch like F5 (or any other function key for that matter) and then a little dialog type thing just like what the brightness and volume monitor look like but only this you can type in a genre, artist, song, rating level, length, album, or simply type in random from any app! Not just when iTunes is in focus. For example i want to listen to some Beck but i'm too lazy to open up itunes, scroll up and down the list of songs or use the search function. So all i do is press F5 then type in "Be" and it should bring up a list of artists/songs/genres starting with Be. since i also have The Beatles, i'll have to type in "Bec" and then it should automatically play a random Beck song, then the next song should be something in the same genre or from the same artist. But enough about intelligent shuffle (good idea btw!)

Hope that helps.

Its been said a million times and i add the million + 1 :
NTFS write support please Apple!

I know there are certain mount point problems and memory key deletions but if you are focusing on performance, no harm spending some time on this I guess!

And while doing this, why not also efs, why have a grudge against Linux???

Don't want any new features, only it to be so refined that it has a near instant boot, very low battery draw, extremely stable, and to feel fast no clunky that Leopard sometimes feels when doing some things.

Let's hope this is exactly what Snow Leopard will bring us. Also, less random bugs.

iChat should work with ALL instant messaging providers. Including Yahoo. And video chat should work as well.

EDIT: And yes, flash support SO needs to improve. My Macbook WAY heats up, using any web page that uses flash, and suddenly drops to 1 hour battery life from 4 hours.

I'm waiting for something similar... for developers to drop flash.

lol you'll be lucky :p

Apple said once that it would use MSN when it becomes an open protocol, or something. I don't see that happening soon... :(

------

I've said this before but I'd like to see a tabs in Finder. Sure, Apple said no new features, but that means no new major features. As shown by Safari 4, they ARE adding new features. Just not HUGE ones like Time Machine and Spaces. So hopefully tabs in Finder will crop up... because that would be very useful.

mmmmmn it'd be pretty sweet if Apple bought pathfinder and got all the bugs out. That'd be my perfect OS.

[*]The ability to be able to create a stack out of a spotlite search that automatically updates when you click it.

+1 for this.

I really like the idea of full exchange support, but seeing it is already confirmed it is a moot point :)

having them add the ability to Leopard (like right now) would be awesome as well. I would be willing to pay for that functionality personally.

On a separate note I would love the ability to have my domain on .Mac (MobileMe). Kind of like what Gmail allow, but basically I want to point my MX records to MobileMe and have them look after all my mail :)

My reasoning for this is I would love the ability for Push Mail etc on my domain email :)

You can do this already in Leopard.

Click on View and you should see something along the lines of Path Bar or Show Path.

Sorry I'm at work at the moment so can't get the exact steps.

2) Font rendering on OS X is superior to Vista - Please just compare the two. Vista doesn't even come close.
I beg to differ. I think that font rendering on the Mac deteriorated with the introduction of OS X. Vista does a much better job of anti-aliasing fonts. Apple has actually fallen behind in this area, once its strong suit.

So my No. 1 feature request, since Apple professes to be working on the underpinning of the OS, is to introduce a new resolution-independent architecture that addresses these obvious Mac weaknesses:

1. eliminate the need for Mac users to have to zoom their documents to 125% because they can't read them at actual size.
2. eliminate the poor rendering of fonts in e-mail clients like Mail which result in micro-size fonts, while no comparable issue exists in Vista/Outlook.

Yup. That was supposed to be a feature in 10.5. Would be great if I could shrink everything to 90% in order to make room for more stuff on my Macbook.

icon previews for single files placed in the dock and for spotlight searches (except images) i.e. including smart folders… WHY hasnt Apple done this in Leopard!? they took the effort to add icon previews to pretty much all the major file extensions but didnt add them to single files in the dock or searches!

and while im at it… how about Quick Look for stacks? and adding back the functionality that was in the beta builds; opening folders in stacks.
