Haha... yeah I remembered you said you had good bagels but not rolls.
CRAZY fresh bagel people :D

Yeah, but the problem is their not "Fresh". At least not by the time I get there :). Their not old, but their not fresh out of the oven, so their cold. I like my bagels warm dammit. When they first opened, I asked for a toasted bagel, and they said "our toaster isn't here yet", now they just refuse to toast them. Strange

Oh well I'll be up there next month, so I can get some warm bagels, specifically a French Toast/and or Waffle Bagel from "Sam I Am Bagels" on Rt. 46 in Totowa.

What NYC calls Szechuan Chinese food. In the Catskills...? Get a wok and learn how to cook it yourself, and get friends or relatives to bring you the ingredients from Asian markets in Syracuse or Ithaca or, sigh... New York City! You can get the produce around here, that's about it.

Irondequoit melons. They were (or maybe still are) a distinct sort of canteloupes grown only up in the farmlands south of Lake Ontario near Rochester, NY. Really delicious, richly flavored melon.

Tacos from street vendors in Mexico City circa 1960. Heaven on earth.

Seriously, try THE&C on a BAGEL! I like it on a roll too but its nice on a warm, toasted bagel :)

Not to resurrect an old thread, but I had a TH&C on a warm bagel yesterday, and it was very good, dare I say better then a Kaiser roll. I would have had Egg too, but I just got home from work at 11:30PM, and wasn't that ambitious LOL :)

CRAZY fresh bagel people :D

As for the crazy fresh bagel people, I was in there last week, and while I was eating my cold bagel with cream cheese, some guy ordered a muffin, and they asked him " do you want it warmed?" I said ohhhhh warmed, and preceded to ask the manager if they would warm the bagels too, she said yes. I figured it might not be toasted, but at least it would be warm right? So I went in there a few days later, and asked for a warm bagel with creme cheese.

To make a long story short they MICROWAVED it! Argggg!! Who does that? They must have put it in for like 2 minutes too cause it was HOT! Of course within like 2 min it turned into a spare tire. So I ask you which is better?

A cold hard to chew bagel.

or

A warm, bagel that has the texture of a tire?

What do the bagel gods have against me? :)

French toast. I haven't made this in about a year.

Just out of curiosity, what geographical constraints prevent you from making french toast? While there certainly are places on earth where you cannot simultaneously find milk, eggs and sliced bread (and cinnamon and maple syrup, for me), I'm pretty sure Georgia isn't one of them :).

French toast, along with pasta with red sauce and garlic bread and a couple others, is one of the few comfort-food staples I've been able to make no matter what continent I happen to be inhabiting.

Now if someone could just ship me a case of Dr. Pepper already...
