I'm really glad I'm experiencing a good chunk of FF7 with the PS5 upgrade but wow, I'm surprised that I paused this game for a while. I am enjoying it so much. I just unlocked the Leviathon materia, which was challenging.

Still haven't received the physical game, and I'm starting to think it's lost. :-(

Got all three Platinums in Mass Effect Legendary Edition. Finished all three on Insanity difficulty so got all the special trophies as well. That was a nice 260 hours of game time.

Started up Control for about the fifth time, but I'm still not feeling this game yet. Think I'll try either Ratchet and Clank or FF7 Intergrade instead.

Edit:

Went to GameStop and traded in AC: Valhalla for the PS4 version of Greedfall since it has a free PS5 upgrade.

Wolfenstein Old Blood. Love these games. Battling against nazis in an old castle in the mountains. Epic.

Might buy a Series S in the future if this series becomes exclusive to Xbox.

Wolfenstein games are a blast. I don’t know if you’ve ever played ‘Doom’, but basically it’s the same scenario with big guns except with aliens in space stations. ID software and Bethesda cross developed both of these titles.

Yeah I’ve tried Doom in the past but never got into it cause I felt it was too repetitive, mainly with the scenarios, but might give it another try in the future when it’s dirty cheap.

For shooters I also have the Metro franchise pending in my backlog. And Bioshock 2 and 3.

Currently replaying Dragon Age: Inquisition for the 3rd time. For the first time I'm playing on hard, and it's way easier than I thought it would be. I recently re-played DAO (PS3) and DA2 (modded on PC), and DAI on hard difficulty is about as the same, if even easier, than both of the earlier games on easy difficulty! Gives me hope that I can actually play on nightmare and get the platinum trophy. I stay away from playing on difficulties higher than normal for most games.

I'm also romancing Solas for the first time ~for the angst~, so that should be fun.

There's something soothing about doing all the side quests in DAI. It just sucks that party banter triggers so rarely :').

You guys should play dead by daylight! Such a very fun game to play with friends (or alone like me xD) as it offers two very different play styles (FPS on the killer side and 3rd perspective as a survivor).

Just wrapped up Resident Evil 8: The Village.

By far, this was the best R.E in the series, I have played every one of them for the record. I think the layout of the village was excellent, the different boss battles were interesting to see how they tied into the storyline and the ‘castle’ by far was the best setting in terms of overall decor, and just loads of detail went into the design set.

If you haven’t played RE:7 Biohazard, then you can’t play RE:8, otherwise none of this will make sense to you. So I definitely recommend playing that one first, but I got to give Capcom so much credit with the work they put in this game. [FYI, I didn’t even download any of the software patch updates and I played approximately 13 hours], and I didn’t run into one glitch or frame rate problem. It really goes to show you how much pride they put into the detail of making these games fully complete.

Also, when you conquer the game, you get _loads_ of bonus content, which includes making behind the scenes of motion capture, concept art, pre-visualizations, and level design of what went into to final code implementation.

10/10.

Oh, and they totally set the plot for the next Resident Evil at the end of the game, which I won’t mention anything else besides that. Capcom truly is king when it comes to having an imagination.

I've played the old RE's back in the days on the PSX and PS2 and enjoyed them a lot back then. Recently I bought RE2 Remake out of nostalgia for the PS4 but the game started annoying me after a couple of hours. The gameplay is so outdated. Running up and down in the police station again and again for another coin, key, whatever. Felt like real chore instead of having fun playing a game. How does RE7/8 compare?

So I finished Mass Effect:Andromeda after finishing ME:LE. It was actually fun, I enjoyed the combat in it. The movement of the jumpjets helped it all move quicker. The story wasn't as bad as people had originally made it out to be and it's a shame it got panned so early because of course EA is not going to continue with anything that gets panned out of the gate. You could see where it was set up for DLC that never came about.

So next I was thinking of replaying the Dragon Age games. But also thinking of giving either Cyberpunk 2077 or Marvels Avengers a chance, if either one come up on sale here soon.

I am playing casually two games as of late (and when I have time): the first Kingdom Rush (tower defense) and the card based tactical combat game Monster Train.

Both on Windows (GOG version).

Monster Train is fun. That and Slay the Spire are my two fallback games if I don't feel like playing a big title- big time investment game.

Yeah, Monster Train is fun. There is also and DLC with additional cards and creatures.

I watched gameplays of Slay the Spire, but somehow didn't like it.

There is some backtracking with all Resident evil games, where you have to find a certain puzzle piece or a key to make entry into another part of the game, but I don’t think it’s anything that’s overwhelming in ‘The Village’. But that’s the brilliant part of RE games, that actually makes you think, and the challenges you to put puzzles together based off with no help or hints. and the puzzles and clues are unique to each level, and when you’re roaming around a castle or dark house with no lights, somehow the game uniquely puts you back into place where you need to be once you figure that puzzle out.

Biohazard was a really good game, ‘The Village’ was even better, and Capcom just keeps raising the bar.

Oh, and just wait until you encounter House Beneviento in the game. I’m telling you right now, if you like scary houses full of unknowns not knowing what’s behind the next door or around the corner, get ready, because by far this was the scariest part of the game I played with any Resident Evil game.

I tried out CrisTales last night. I love the art style, and the past/present/future hook adds an interesting side to the game, but the difficulty is stupid high.

I have 180 health, and even with timing the button press for a proper parry, I am taking 38 damage. It doesn't help that enemies have no health bar, so you have to truly worry about using one person as a healer each round otherwise who you thought should be dead with this hit will in turn just knock you out on their turn.

I guess PC games, and games on Steam are A-OK for this thread (as in it's not strictly consoles)? If so, how about that... I'm playing StarCraft 2: Heart of the Swarm campaign now! I'm also playing Coop mode (which got added in 2011, with the the release of the Legacy of the Void exp.

For console, Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

I tried BOTW on pc via Cemu, its too much like far cry. I hate the durability, so I disabled that and enabled infinite arrows. Crafting pisses me off, so the game is now deleted.

It annoyed me at first, but I'm willing to rough it out. It has been a fun experience thus far. However, the game is that type of fun where I'd be content even if I never beat it.

OTOH, I love having infinite ammo in first/3rd person shooters!

Yes, and they have a demo for it! I got it on sale for ~$25.
Was temped buying but then a friend told me that there are several DLC's in the making, so I'm waiting for a Definitive Edition or whatever they'll call it. And then add it to my neverending backlog :p

Still playing Jedi Fallen Order at the moment, enjoying the game a lot, but summer is keeping me from gaming a lot (which isn't a bad thing). Next up on the list: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade and by then the Ghost of Tsushima DLC will be out and I will be playing that one without a doubt. Can't wait to slay more Mongol scum!

Still playing Greedfall on PS5, but I picked up Marvel Avengers since it was only $20. I can see why the game got meh reviews. Linear and the gameplay feels extremely basic. Makes great use of the PS5 controller though.

XBox is having it's summer sale and both of the games I was looking at are on sale, Cyberpunk 2077 for $43 and Avengers for $23.

I will probably pick up one of those.

Also, Diablo 3 just started a new season today, so I will probably play that for the next couple weeks.
